If your grandmother is able to communicate, take this very precious time to talk to her about her life, family stories, what her childhood was like, etc and write it all down. You'll be sad when she's gone and you can't ask her anything. At the end of life for elderly people, remember they were there for us when we were babies. And one day you'll be elderly...

Also what I did was figured out since the center of gravity tends to be wonky- take the top of the handle off- squirt school glue generously, so it flows on the opposite side ...if it falls backwards put the glue so it goes along the inside of the front of the handle-then get some dollar tree sand and funnel it in and kind of hold your dustpan handle with the front facing downward and jiggle the sand so it sticks in the glue. Keep the handle parallel to something flat and prop the handle end on a box or book ifbthevglue is in front, so the glue stays where you want it.Or lay it flat if the glue is in back. It works! All that because I had to grab the phone or some and the dust pan fell over backwards and launched the crumbs. Ibwas like...never again!!! I will be trying your comb hack. I grossly sweep my broom on the rug to clean the hair out. So thanks!!! It is also a dollar tree broom. I am in a small apartment so dt really works for me 😀

As for the chenille sock/slipper, I confess I bought a pack from Amazon several years ago. I found them uncomfortable and was always afraid to wear them for fear of slipping on my hardwood floors. But guess what? They are amazing when slipped over a padless Swiffer mophead. I can get right into small dust prone areas such as under my kitchen appliances and furniture. No more dust bunnies! I bought a package of those micro fiber footies from Amazon and I use them on my swiffer. I use one to “sweep” then another to “mop”. As I’m mopping I put the footie in the water with the cleaner, ring it out and put it back on the swiffer. I do that as needed. Then when I’m done both footies go in the wash and I put a clean one on the swiffer to use to mop up every day spills or sweep messes, especially around the litter box. Best idea ever! -Susan

The mop bucket is a lot less at Walmart. It’s like $30-$35. I got one and I absolutely LOOOVE it! It’s one of the absolute best cleaning products (besides my Bissell Steamer that you also suggested) that I’ve ever bought. It’s 100% worth the buy.

Anyone out there with a barn/stable Dollar Tree is a godsend! Kitchen brooms are light weight to use to take down cobwebs and dust walls. Awesome cleaners work great on brushes, buckets, grooming tools. Soft long handle brushes are great for dusting saddles without scratching. Stiff small as she showed above make great hoof cleaners. Endless possibilities!

Another tip for the laundry scent beads is to throw a small handful into your empty Dyson cordless canister (or any other canister cordless vac). You get a nice scent when you vacuum. I couldn't use them for laundry bc of eczema so I saw this trick somewhere and made use of the beads this way.
My neighbor cleans houses and I told her this hack and she said her clients love it.

Hello, I watched this episode and wanted to share.....here's another simple way to clean microwave.
Use microwave safe mug/bowl, put mixture of lemon juice and water in mug/bowl and microwave to a boil...3-4 minutes depending upon wattage of your microwave. Then just leave it in microwave...approximately 5 minutes, keeping door shut of course.
Then take a rag, carefully dip rag in the lemon water bowl and everything just wipes off soooo easily. 🥰👌

I absolutely love love love the $20 dust pan and your dollar tree suggestion. BUT if you also purchase a large comb or the package of combs from dollar tree you can hot glue to the dustpan in the same place they have on the $20 version and it works the exact same! We have 3 girls with very long very fine hair in our house. So I actually glued one of the dollar tree combs (that came in a package of assorted combs) that has the bristles or points very very close together onto the dustpan. It instantly removes the hair and any other small item stuck into the broom that the $20 version never removed. Hopefully this helps someone who needs this money saving hack

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s so hard losing our parents, it just hits different than any other loss I think. I’m still reeling over the loss of my dad in 2020, that was a rough year. And now it seems my mom’s memory is going. Not sure if it’s undiagnosed dementia at this point, but it’s getting really bad. So, in a way I’m losing my mother too, not in the physical sense, but she’s not the same person anymore. Sorry for the rambling, really just wanted to say I’m sorry. Getting older is hard because we know at some point we’re gonna lose the people that took care of us our whole lives. I hope you find peace and just know she’s keeping an eye on ya - I believe that anyway

Loved all your ideas but 1. Yikes Re: cleaning your grout! Hint: Use grout cleaner.
When you use anything acidic, or bleaching ex. baking soda & hydrogen peroxide, bleach, etc it causes micro abrasions in the grout which will ultimately make your grout dirtier or absorb more dirt. It will look great for the immediate but dirtier later & will need to be cleaned more frequently. (Perhaps if your grout has already been bleached or micro-marred it's too late. I don't know if continued damage makes the dirt worse) I learned this from a Pro and it really does make a huge difference. True grout cleaner is not terribly expensive and you won't need to clean your grout as often. Also be wary of how hard or scratchy is the brush you use. Real grout cleaner will clean it w/o the need to scratch or scrub.
Thanks for all of your other hacks.

I got the O'Cedar bucket and mop for about 40 bucks at Walmart, pre-inflation. If I recall correctly, the mop came with the bucket. However, I hate that bucket. I am going to try adding the flower pot and see if it will fit in it I spray my microwave with Dawn Powerwash, wait five minutes and wipe it out with a rag wet with hot water. Works beautifully.

    Great tips!!
    Two things:
    1. I've seen a few videos from tile experts & they both said the same thing: the main reason grout gets dirty is from wet-mopping Before vacuuming. If the floor is merely wet-mopped, the water turns the dust into mud & goes Straight into the grout! I personally use (White) toilet-bowl cleaner for the grout & then SEAL it as often as I think about it!
    2. A staple from the DT I've used for years is their Fabric Refresher. It comes in a blue Febreez-y bottle & it's Great for taming wrinkles. I even have a travel bottle with this stuff & Bonus-- it makes the clothes smell good! 🤗
Well, I'm off to the Dollar Tree! Thanks again!😀
