I used to swear by Lucas Xtreme green stuff. Last fall I was about 2 hours from home when my truck saved my a$$. A warning popped "trailer brake wiring fault". I pulled over in a small town and found one wheel on my 30' travel trailer had almost fallen off. The bearings were destroyed and everything melted. My family spent the rainy afternoon in a Lowes parking lot while I tracked down parts before heading home the next morning.
Fast forward and I've pulled other wheels to see what happened. Using a grease packer I forced new grease in, and the old grease out. What came out was no longer green, but nasty brown. The rollers/races were also straw colored which Timken states is caused by heat due to INSUFFICIENT LUBRICATION. The year old bearings were full of Lucas grease, and only Lucas grease, yet my trip ended with one of the top 3 worst days of my life.

Just curious, did you by chance mix any other grease with it at all? What you area describing sounds like you mixed lithium and polyurea together. That makes a cocktail of failure in the grease industry. Basically that’s what happens when you mix the green and red together, it separates and the contaminants literally ruin the grease and it runs out like 30 weight motor oil. Hope this helps you out. They really NEED to put this on the package asap!!

A year prior I had scrubbed the bearings in a parts washer and wiped the hubs clean. Not a spec of the factory red stuff before I packed them with Lucas green.
I'm running Valvoline Cerulean and all new Timken parts. I've checked the hubs about 2 hours away from home and they weren't even warm.

    1) CV joints.. Front Wheel Drive?
    2) Refilling car good old bearings with grease. Under the engine hood.. for example:
Alternator Bearings, Starter, Tensioner belt bearing, idler pulley bearing.. that get the heat of the engine.. grease will not leak or melt.

After this video, I’m thinking Lucas doesn’t even know their own product or industry. Maybe it’s time to switch to another brand. There were a few subtle hints in there - Red n Tacky is for open applications like open gears and sliding surfaces - no idea what temp range, Construction and Mining grease is for slow sliding surfaces that are subject to
contamination and large clearances like suspension bushings and pivots and fifth wheel plates - no idea what temperature. Marine is a general grease for submerged in water applications, Xtra- heavy is for typical wheel bearings and bushings where the grease must flow…

mtb parts are not all the same, the headset, is not the same as the freehub, so you cant use the same grease. For ball bearings all except white grease are good greases, but if you want a long lasting grease, use xtra heavy duty grease(the green one), but be carefull of removing previous grease.
