- Back in the Pub Shed we compare the Perfect Draught beer dispenser which enables beer lovers to serve various lagers and keg beers from all over the world at home.
We compare that system to the traditional hand pulled beer found in most pubs dispensing a increasing amount of traditional ale in the time honoured way.
And we sample plenty of beer along the way

I like the idea of cold beer on tap, especially as summertime approaches, but I haven’t the skills or talent of you to convert my shed. Can the perfect draught system sit on the counter top in the kitchen, or is it best tucked away in a cabinet?

Hi mate. Love all your videos, but the pub ones are my absolute favourite!!! I have a home pub in my house so I can completely relate to everything you love. Nice to see you have used Yorkshire heart. I’ve been buying from them for about 18 months and as you said their service is second to none👍🍺 You might be interested to have a look at the Pint365 hand pull. Self contained system with the check valve inside the beer engine. Great price, around £200.

hi Patrick my name's Craig I am a blind subscriber to your channel and I love your videos I especially love the ones in the pub shed and that drove me to get my own hand pull Beer Engine I have the pint365 from Harry Mason's of Birmingham, 2020 was a terrible year for many of us my own issues was with my new guide dog my fifth guide dog in fact was a large German Shepherd called Yorkie we qualified in the December of 2019 but in the August of 2020 he was found to have a tumour and had to have his spleen removed this turned out to be a nasty tumour and unfortunately after emergency op we had to have him put to sleep in the October of 2020 with him only just touching 3 years old, I'm now on guide dog number 6 a little black Labrador called Cindy so the future is looking rosy. all the best to you and yours for the remainder of 2022 and beyond please keep up the videos because you don't have to see them to be involved with them. thanks for everything you're truly inspirational Craig x

Yes realise that now, but seems to froth up with what ever glass you use. It was a stout, not what I would call a proper one more of a keg stout...Pat

Great video pat. I now have my own pub shed after taking inspiration from watching your videos, it did cost me a few quid , mainly the cost of the summer house and getting a qualified spark in to do the electrics but was money well spent as I’ve had some great nights in it with friends and family 👍🍺🍺

Hi there and great to hear from you, I enjoy your channel on the PD as well. Hand Pull system is more bulky and a bit more work, but really opens up your choice of beer and ales. I prefer hand pull, but the PD makes a nice change, great for summer, and with 28 day shelf live, no problem having a keg on all the time....all the best Pat

Fantastic video as always Pat, great to see you back in the pub, just what I needed while the weather is bad out. For the keg system, I'd recommend putting the spout much nearer to the glass, which should cut down on the head/froth. All the best

I agree, as you begin to pour, have the spout touching the glass.
One vote for hand pump (beer engine) from here! I like to move my unit around the house a lot. To the shed pub. To the kitchen. To the basement. Easy with the screws, just needs a firm table. Here's my dirty secret, but it works: Since getting real ale is a rare treat here in Finland, one can also use the hand pump with canned or bottled beer (works best with ales, stouts and other low carbonated beers). Just pour the bottles/cans into bigger container and pump the beer out with the beer engine. It makes pretty much every beer taste better and less carbonated, and also gives a beautiful thick and creamy head. Absolutely love my beer engine! Truly a piece of art. Works well with 5l mini-kegs too! Great video Pat, once again!
Yes the beer engine is a mechanical work of art, just love pulling pints with it, similar to you I have poured bottles into a beer in a box to top it up when running short, so much better through the hand pull. Nice to hear from you in Finland, cheers Pat
