  • Last wildcamp for a while due to covid lockdown.
    Beautiful location on the hills above Sheffield and a fantastic meal of Roast Beef Yorkshire Puddings and Roast Potatoes all cooked in my homemade oven in the tent. !

    Finally managed to publish this video, had great problems and could not get past 0% upload, very frustrating and nearly gave up. Ended up firing up a old laptop and uploaded and published from that. I thought there maybe problems with my seperate audio so deleted it and left the GoPro audio on, a bit rubbishy with wind noise, but at least the video is on.
    Going to lie down in the pub for the rest of the afternoon to calm down.
    Thanks Pat

      Fantastic video Patrick. You are amazing. I have cooked a meal in my tent (or just outside) but nothing like this. So glad you didn't give up with the upload. Strange things happen with computers and software and it was a brilliant idea to use another laptop which then worked. Can I ask your age ? I'm 62 and still camping but need to do wild camping next year as I am fed up with noisy camp sites !

    Absolutely brilliant. Yorkshire Pudding Roast Beef and all the trimmings in the fields above Sheffield. Amazing...The audio was pretty good, actually. And the way you can spin a story with facts and details in a long stream of talk is really professional and natural. And the shot from in the tent (35 years old...) was great and atmospheric. Very rare do people show the nighttime experiences of camping...

    Pat must must have a cast iron stomach. I camped year round from 1980 to 2018 using a motorcycle & small tent. No way did I ever even attempt cooking a meal that size let alone eating it before trying to settle down for bed. The most I ever cooked was bacon/sausage rolls sometimes with mushrooms. In the end I stuck to breakfast bars & the like. Anything the size of Pat’s meal & I would not have slept.
    I wholeheartedly agree that once home drying out the tent along with airing out the sleeping bag are absolutely essential. Cleaning/repairs to pots, stoves, clothing etc also came high on my jobs to do list.

    I must have watched this video about 20 times now Pat! Kept my spirits up when we were all stuck at home. Look forward to seeing some more camping vids, I was up walking on Kinder a few times last week and it wasn't too busy even with the good weather, so I think I'll be having a night out fairly soon.

    Recently stumbled upon one of Pat's videos and I'm hooked. Myself having a passion for camping and cooking good food it is a joy watching Patrick living life to the fullest. Lockdown or no lockdown, put up a tent in your garden or bedroom, pull up a stove a start cooking whilst sipping a bit of whisky. Don't let anything hold you from doing what you love most. You're quite an inspiration you are. Never stop creating and always remain yourself.
    Cheers from Belgica

    First time commenting here. You nailed the dinner; crispy potatoes, perfect colour and a bit of rise to the Yorkshires, brilliant job. All while looking at the moon rise. You killed me when you left the oven door open whilst pouring your batter into the hot fat, but the Yorkshires looked a remarkable success despite this. 👍🏻

    Great video Pat didn't expect to see a video for a bit what with the weather but saying that weather doesn't put you off after the last video where you woke up with the tent in three inches of water. This was a walk in the park for you just the wind and a full Sunday roast on the on the Menu, fantastic job loving the oven I remember you showing us how you made it. I just love that oven and hope you publish the plans. It looks like stainless steel sheet with L-sections riveted to the sides. I already have the Whisperlite. My Dad used to use the phrase 'Hollowlegs'.
    I had a look at the rules on Gov.uk which has left camping under the radar and I can't imagine that PC Plod will bother to follow people up onto the hills to check that they don't go outside their council area for their daily exercise. Let alone check their pack to see if it contains a tent (and an oven)!
    You had a much more stress-free day doing this than I had today, I had to move a caravan across three counties to park it up for the winter. All along the A303 there seemed to be police patrols passing every five minutes. Each one slowed down to have a good look and I was just waiting for the blue light to come on and make me stop!
    Great tea-time viewing!!!

      @patrickdickinson6492  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes up there on the hills, no stress, just breeze to blow all your troubles away.
      The oven is just aluminium sheet and angle, and alot of rivets, made it up as I went a long, all the best Pat
