Also, at 3:40....it almost looked more VHS to not bring the top right end of the curve down - your first point bringing down the highs gave it a "bad" contrast that looked VHS!
For some reason, this felt a little easier than your previous (also FANTASTIC) tutorial, but with even more of an authentic look and feel to it. Since this has always been one of my favorite effects to play around with in a project I work on , it's great to have another tutorial about this. The end result is amazing. My biggest problem is that... back in the day cameras simply didn't show that much detail. I want my videos to look shitty (not like I added a vhs mask) xD and I can't seem to find tutorials on how to achieve that low quality 90's camcorder look :'(
hey, im very new to premire pro and i can't figure out how to insert the vhs overlay, like how do i open it in the program? but other than that i figured out everything else! your channel is very helpful!
sourjoons glad the channel is helping! Once you download the overlay, import it into Premiere just like you would footage. Once it’s in your project, simply drag it on top of the footage you’d like to apply it over and change the blending mode to ‘screen’. Hope this helps! 🤙🏻

Make sure to tailor your grade to your own footage. Just flatten the highlights, but leave a little detail there!

I think you could also do it in 2 video tracks? Put the top one to 100 Red and the bottom one Green and Blue to 100 each.

That's normal, just make sure you're entering 100 and you'll be fine if it defaults to 39
