    "When I am White, I win because I am White. When I am Black, I win because I am Bogolyubov."
    Efim Bogolyubov

    • @IgnatzKolisch
      @IgnatzKolisch 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +9

      When I first heard that quote, I was told it as a sign of extreme arrogance by Bogolyubov. However, I found out later that it's more a play on words, that he's kinda "blessed by God", or since he "loves God", that he got a win with Black. So if anything, it was a self-deprecating joke, not an arrogant statement as it's often portrayed.

    The correct Russian pronunciation of Alekhine is actually the way Agad pronounces it. Alekhine himself hated it when people pronounced the e in his name as ё (yo) and considered it a distortion of his name. In recent times people like Levy Rozman have further popularized the incorrect pronunciation, leading many to believe it's "more correct."

    Marshall-Lasker, Moscow 1925. The “Original” Immortal Losing game which predates Bronstein’s. Unlike Bronstein who didn’t successfully swindle his way back in bro the game, Marshall set so many traps that he managed to fight back to around equal footing, but then a queen sacrifice in a complicated position ended things 😊😊
    PS I don’t think anyone has really covered such a marvelous game, at least in depth, on YT
    (One man covered it before but he completely overlooked all the traps Marshall set)

    Hello, i watched you since around 2018 or even before i dont remember..i knew how to play chess but ofcours seeing you got me involved in chess more..i started studying it..learning about it..the history..the chess champions..i remember back then i was trying to see some matches and there were also some other guys showing the matches, but only you i found you cool and really showing the real match. You were showing your passion and also you were genuine. I remember back then you had around 4 k views in a video, then you grew then went 10 k subs then 100 k etc.
    Ofcours nowdays you are more professional but i like more the old agad because its more simple for me because i dont know much about chess.
    I watched paul morphys sagas and i also read the book about him very interesting.
    I am curious to see more games and stories from old chess legends, they had only their pure talent
    Ofcours also new games from tournaments are a great show to watch them and to keep up to date with the best players and the best plays.
    You are a great show for a lot of people for everyone who likes chess.
    You have the passion and you share your passion and thats always a positive thing to share, you are like a serial and we are very lucky to have you here
