    My 1st Gibson is a 1998 Les Paul Special. I bought it brand new in 1999. It's been beaten to death but I still have it and it still sounds great.

    My first Gibson I got last year (for free) was a 1957 LG-1. I had to put some $$$ into it, but it’s well worth it.
    Just got my first epiphone. Joan Jett signature model. Great guitar !!

    I have worked for a music store so I know dealer cost on Fender, Gibson, Martin, etc. When I go into a Guitar Center they always quote me MSRP and when I make them an offer they don't want to deal with me! Seriously in 2011 I wanted to buy 1 black & 1 white Gibson Melody Maker Flying V so I went to G.C. and they quoted me $539.00 for one. I told them they were on ebay for $399 and they said they did not honor ebays prices and these guitars were made for G.C. only so I went to another Gibson dealer ( Sound Vibrations ) and they did not know about these guitars believe it or not they said the Gibson rep did not tell them about these guitars ( man he was pissed ) I asked for one and they said they would sell me a black one for $399 but the white ones were already sold out so I took the receipt I had for the black one and went back to G.C. and told the manager if he did not get me a white one for $399 from another store I would go over his head and go through another G.C. and get one for the price that I wanted to pay, and two days later I had the guitar. lol Sound Vibrations is not a Gibson dealer any more. Can you blame them for dropping Gibson? A good employee is worth his wait in gold and a bad one will cost you money. I have not bought a new Gibson since... and I wont even buy strings or a T shirt from G.C.

    That is a great story. Awesome, man. I can just hear it - Hey, man. Is that Willie Nelson’s script on your guitar? Oh. Yeah. It is. Wow. That’s very cool. Hey. What’s your name? Oh. Lukas. Lukas Nelson. 😊🎶🎶🌻🌈🌅🎶🎶🦋

      It's a good, mostly fictional story. His dad did sign it. The real story is even better. It's the one Bob Dylan picked up after he put down the '64 Strat at Newport Folk festival '65. The one enchanted with the memory of any song ever played. The one George Harrison gave him.

  • @ramonawilliams6783

    That is is the best piece of fiction I've ever watched. He did not get that guitar from Gibson and it ain't new. Is that the guitar that George Harrison learned to play acoustic guitar on and enchanted with the memory of any song ever played? Absolutely. Ask any deadhead who went to the Babbs ranch between 1970 and July 4th, 2012. I know he's making that up cuz my husband his friend carried that guitar down off of Murder Mountain and left it at the Mateel for him. I've called the Mateel to see if that guitar was still there, it ain't.

      Btw his first Gibson was his 56 Les Paul Jr what he just got his name on from Gibson. I personally have seen the enchantment at work on his prewar Gibson SJ-200 guitar. In Boulder when I saw him play in 2021, I told the the story of the supposedly new guitar and Bob Dylan's all seeing Eye of Horus gleamed at me from the dark.

    Too bad Gibson guitars are a complete pile of crap these days. Gibson quit caring about quality. Just buy a G&L.

    • @rexrathtar3893
      @rexrathtar3893 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, if you watched the video, it's about Lukas getting a J200. Since your advice was to just buy G&L, which G&L model should we be buying as an alternative to a J200?

    • @charles3200
      @charles3200 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rexrathtar3893 I'm referencing pretty much every Gibson guitar that they sell not just the one of the video above. Gibson used to do good and make amazing guitars. Now the quality is a crapshoot. You can get a good guitar that sounds and plays a exceedingly well or you can get an absolute heap of junk that you paid way too much for. I played a $3,500 Gibson just about 6 months ago guitar Center and it wouldn't even stay in tune for 2 minutes. I'm not joking. It was just awful. Also the finish had a big crack in the back. Just unforgivable for a brand like Gibson and they can do better and they must or they won't be around for very much longer. So if Gibson is a brand you love, be honest and stop feeding their out of touch belief about themselves that bc they're 'Gibson' they can make crap and sell it for a high price. QC has got to change... company philosophy has got to change also.
