Just ordered one for my trip to Spain! Thank you so much for this review Jack. The day pack is going to be perfect for carrying my camera. I can't wait to use it abroad!
I have this backpack and have used it to travel around Europe & Asia extensively. For most part, Asian airlines will let you take this bag as carry on (1 daypack, and main pack goes overhead) while for budget European airlines (i.g. Ryan Air) would require you to checked your backpack. In my personal experiences I had to checked mine several times out of hundreds commuting through airports so I’m overall happy with it and you can still have all your essentials in the daypack if you were forced to checked the main bag. Hope this helps :)
Dude, I'm going to Europe in June since you also went there , wonder if I can pass this 55L on Vueling and Easyjet as carry on in cabin. This is an awesome backpack and I don't want to end up buying the farpoint 40L. Thanks aswesome video
+Esteban Balvin not sure specific calls for those planes but I think the trick to using it as a carry on is to unzip the small backpack and put that under your seat! That way the larger part can pass as a duffle
+pucciniuk thank you! Some have had problems carrying on, I would reccomend separating the bags and trying to bring it as a carry-on. Connected together they need to be checked
sir jack.what size is this? tha S/M or s M/l? thans for the info cause I have a friend has it... and its volcanic grey color... thanks and I appreciate the info... really good review
Bought this and thinking about exchanging it for the Volt for some more conventional backpacking utility. I will be travelling a lot though, and would miss all the travel-specific features. How comfortable is it for a base camp trek where no tents or any heavy-duty gear would be required (staying at small shacks along the way)?
+Luis Romero I am not sure, I do not believe it is water resistant. You could score a cheap backpack raincover for approx $10 and that would be an easy fix!
+Rizkia Anjani Well, it is an un-adjustable backpack to my knowledge. In such case, I don't think it would fit 100% perfect but you could certainly get away with it if it was your only travel option. Many many other quality backpacks are height adjustable and are great for travel as well. This backpack just has the very nice strap compartment
+Bushwhack Jack do you have any other recommendation for travel carry-on backpack that more suitable for women with pretty much the same as me? deuter or rei maybe? is it recommeded?
+Rizkia Anjani sure thing! The Deuter ACT Lite 45 + 10 SL looks like a solid pack you should be able to carry on! Just try to keep it at an appropriate size by not overpacking and you should be able to get away with using it as a carry on! Happy travels
Dude, you must be getting paid for doing that review of that backpack. I got one of them and it lasted for a couple of weeks before it started to fall appart. It costs 125 euros in Spain. For that money you can get something a lot better.
No offense intended man. I´m just still amazed at how little abuse this rucksack endures. I made a very normal use of it during a holiday in Rumania, taking it from place to place in a rented car, and the mesh pockets which hold bottles started to deteriorate. Osprey sewed the mesh after having the pack sent (sewed them very badly) and said no refund was due because the mesh pockets didn´t have any building defect. Amazing! I bought the pack because of the almighty guarantee, and they only thing they did was to badly sew the parts which had got broken in just 15 days of use.

+AstronoBEAds woo!
One of the most detailed reviews of the bag around TH-cam, thanks
+jasgaravito no problem!
Amazing review Jack! I was eyeing this backpack for a while and your review sealed the deal for me to get this for my South East Asia trip. Thanks!
+Mark Liangco thank you! Enjoy the trip!
I just bought this pack in Caribbean blue for my trip to Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and Panama 🇵🇦. Can't wait
+Spencer Healy awesome! Have a great trip!

Great review man. Headed to Europe in a few days and this pack is my life source.
Awesome review! Thanks a lot, im looking into buying this to travel Europe for a month.
+Hector Clandestino thank you! This is the perfect pack for it! My buddy said that he actually used the front clip for the day pack a lot!
Great Video. I ordered the 40 now I'm wondering if I should have got the 55. Didn't realise this could be used as a carry on as well.
Thank you! Yes the carry-on feature is really great
Thank you Jack! Excellent video! (:
+heitoralthmann hey thanks dude! Glad you could get some solid info from the video :]
Indeed! You gave me all the info I needed. Now I'm pretty sure this is the thing to have! Thank you!
Great video! Very helpful!

good trick! thanks for that
How did that go Esteban Balvin? You literally read my mind! I'm flying two Easyjet flights in Europe...
Great review. Thanks 🇹🇭👍🏻🇹🇭
+The Nesoi you got it!
Bushwhack Jack not yet
Was Looking at the osprey 70l and 55l.
70l looks a bit big, so this 55l looks perfect 👍🏻
The main pack needs a rain cover. The small bag wouldn’t hurt to have a waist belt
Did your friend say if he ever had to check the bag? Or was he able to use it as a carry-on item?
+Miguel De La Cruz my pal used it as a carry-on! Yet another great thing about this backpack
+Miguel De La Cruz he would unzip the daypack from it and use it as a personal bag and then stow the pack in the overhead bins, hope that helps!
Hey, great review! Quick question, I'm 5'9 and average build. Which size would you recommend? S/M or M/L? Thanks!
+henryl0l probably the M/L, unzip the front bag to be sure to carry it on if needed!
Nice review mate. Quick question, is it carry-on size or you need to check it in?
+pucciniuk thank you! Some have had problems carrying on, I would reccomend separating the bags and trying to bring it as a carry-on. Connected together they need to be checked

+john henry nael pretty sure this is a Large! It's the 40L version. Thank you!

Hey ! Do you think I can take this bag for a worldtrip where I will be trekking sometimes for one or two weeks ?
Jack. Do you think you could use this for interrailing? Jack.
+Salz greetings! I'm not sure what interrailing is, could you explain?
+Salz just looked it up, should be great for interrailing!!
Grrrrreat! Going in June for 22 days across Europe. Really looking forward to it ^^
+Salik Enequist heeeeeeell yeah!!
I've seen it in a black and blue I think. The only colour choices now seem to be black red or light blue. Are there other colour choices
I mean black and blue on one pack
Can anyone tell which laptop size fits into the daypack? would 13, or even 14 Inch Displays fit in there?
Hey by any chance does anyone know if this bag is water resistant? I'd like a bag that will keep my stuff dry in case of any rainy days.
+Luis Romero I am not sure, I do not believe it is water resistant. You could score a cheap backpack raincover for approx $10 and that would be an easy fix!
thanks
Jack ,the bag is water proof ? thanks
+RELATOR 4 the bag is not waterproof
how about 5'7" man which size would you recommend?? thanks a lot!!!
probably the S/M size
Hey man, do you think that this backpack will make it on Ryanair?
+Kevin Regalado I am not familiar with their policy, for the most part this a great Bag for airlines!
does this backpack suitable for someone with the height of 5'2 (158cm)?
+Rizkia Anjani Well, it is an un-adjustable backpack to my knowledge. In such case, I don't think it would fit 100% perfect but you could certainly get away with it if it was your only travel option. +Bushwhack Jack is Deuter Act Lite 45+10 SL provides a front loading feature and attached dailypack?
+Rizkia Anjani I do not think so, however I think the lid of the pack removes for a fanny pack style pocket

+ivan garcia sorry to hear that! Did not get paid for this, I wish!

+Patrick Fealy yes!
