I never knew what was creating those "droning" tones during that intro. I always thought it could have been a guitar employing a volume pedal. But it appears that they were just "vibrations" coming from Wyman's vibraphone.
My favorite group since first hearing them in 1964 as an 11-year-old. And this is their best song from their best album, Let It Bleed. Guess that makes it my favorite song by them.
Always loved Keith His interaction with Hopkins during the middle break is magnificent I can listen to that and the middle break in you got the silver thousands of times
What a din❤ At the end of the guitars, I can’t believe they conceived of that sound and said “yea that’s it” I love this song it should be said Deconstructing this tune makes it even scarier
@@heelpayne420 Yes! That was exactly my question. Keith was ridiculously talented and could easily have written that bass line. But, if Wyman wrote it, then, IMO, he's been underestimated.
Seen them do it live a few times keef was no where near the same tones tho ...he was. Close to the right time at hyde park on the 69 tour for intro for cant u hear me knockin Gibson les oaul junior
Charlies drums are so good. This was one of my favorite songs to plays when i was just getting decent at the drums about 20 years ago
What a masterpiece.
The most important piece of this puzzle is at haunting piano intro from the great Nicky Hopkins
Thank you

Those drums are as funky as it gets
man, Charlie's drums sound even better isolated than on the track. my favorite stones song. he's grooving like a. mofo.
Those double stops in the beginning are great So I learned the rest of the song , Good Stuff !

It’s the absolute definition of Rock music. When Martians invade and ask about Rock music, Monkey Man is what I’ll play to illustrate.
Charlie looks like the villain from No Country For Old Men.
Good catch
This was the 1st album I ever bought back in '69 still play it, it is one of my favourites, 🤘💜👍
I learned this on guitar from a Stones book. One of my favs. Let it Bleed is a great album

lm a monkey man 2. love the monkey. peace
Ice Monkey😎 Peace🤓
We already knew that Keith Richards was a genius. But, if Wyman created that bass track, he's been extremely underestimated, IMO.
Its Wyman …yes he was great.
No YOU are the genius😂
It’s definitely Bill playing. Sounds exactly like his style and sound.
Bill Wyman played on this. But there are instances of Keith playing bass. Like on Sympathy For The Devil, little T & A and many others

The bass is cutting out.
@@BigSky1 The ai can find it difficult to take apart the tracks, especially when there is a lot going on.
@ 👍
What is wrong with the sound ?
you're hearing the filters kick in and out. They are filtering out the other instruments to isolate the tracks
It sucks
