Know-how and quality equipment (which I know isn't cheap) makes all the difference in metal detecting videos. I have misophonia so I especially have a limit to how much wind-blown mic's and extensive pinpointer beeping I can stand. By the way, IDK if you guys have ever tried a Dr. Otek pinpointer but I LOVE mine; it doesn't beep but vibrates and has a 3-color light indicator to show how hot or cold you are to the target -and they're not expensive! Anyway, this video was great, you showed a great ratio of trash and treasure, and I loved the point system competition.

When I was a kid, before the use of pesticides and herbicides, we burned our fields every year before planting. Probably much better for the environment. Enjoyed the video. 😊

@@terryarchibald2467 Not the smart ones. Look at Greg Judy videos explaining how it damages the soil by taking out all the usable carbon. Usable meaning the worms can't use it to build and store the carbon in the soil. Burning the hair off your dog with a blow torch to kill the parasites seems like a good idea, right?

We burned our fields in the spring just before plowing. Years back when plowing was done by horse we would joke about how you empty your pockets before you go or the plow will empty them after you leave. I lost a few coins out in in field.

He is the first person I reached out to for help when I was trying to choose a new detector when I was trying to get more serious about the hobby. He responded immediately and was such a big help. Great job Brad sorry your trip took a turn for the worst after this day. Hope you are feeling better.

I have a question. Being an old crumudgeon, and detectorist, Why would anybody seriously use a digital detector to relic hunt????? I mean I got 3/4 of a gallon of civil war bullets, 4 cannon balls, a quart of buttons, ect. I even found a CSA belt buckle once! (got $500 for that puppy) but we always refused to give up our analog machines. A digital only samples the wave form every 2 or 3 thousand mili-seconds and throws away the rest of the wave, then a microchip guesses what the target is ;) JUNK!!! An analog machines uses the whole wave form so it goes deeper and far more accurate. They also have a far better and more accurate discrimination circuit but you have to use your ears, not your eyes. Someone with an old ElDorado can hunt behind you and pick up what you missed ;) For instance someone with a 1265X can clean a tot lot, including all the silver and never dig a pull tab! But we found that extreme iron convered places like homesteads or just out in the woods we used a gold detector!! A Gold Strike for instance, seperates ferrous and non-ferrous, runs at 37 khz. It will pick up a gold ear ring post at 4 inches!!! It is made for extreme hot rock fields. It will find a 129 grain nugget at 8 inches under a hot rock!!!! Since your going to dig all targets anyway, why miss a pinhead piece of gold or a gold coin or ring??? Also, your silver count will tripple!!!! Something the size of a half dime turned on it's edge at 6 inches will scream at you!! Borrow an old analog Gold Bug and go back and clean up what that digital marvel left in the ground ;)

I am enjoying the laughter. I put a ten dollar bill in the quarter machine at the laundry mat changer last Monday. I got real new coins that I collect and a few 1960's that I collect.
