      @@christianstokes1468 I didn't see any predictions of victory or arrogance/cockiness, it was exactly what it stated, winning game 6 instead of losing it like in the bubble allowed the Isles a chance to win a game and go to the Cup (Which they would have won had they won the semis).
      Tampa hasn't lost two straight games during their last two runs and it's an impressive accomplishment. They really remind me of the Islanders dynasty I grew up watching as a child.
      I guess, in the end, the Lightning true final was against the Islanders who for the second year in a row were the only team to even test the Bolts. The series was as close as could be outside of a game 7 overtime. I tip my cap to a great team in the Tampa Lightning. May they meet again in next year's ECF.

    • @GMFan
      @GMFan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DecrepitOrigin888 yeah, the way that I realize how meaningless those stats are is thinking how stupid it would be for a player to go “we scored the first goal! Every game the team that scored the first goal won therefore we should win!”

    • @user-cz7bu5qk8w
      @user-cz7bu5qk8w 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This whole conversation is flawed because the entire point of stats like that is to avoid talking about it as a binary thing. The proper comment is "those stats usually 'matter' but not always as in accordance with their percentages." One would prefer to score the first goal, and every goal, but it doesn't end the game either.

    Great game, and congrats to the Islanders for the hard work and win. All teams play with injuries and players missing from the line up, and their teammates have too step it up when they lose a key player. That is the nature of this game and the nature of all team battles. That being said, cross checking has been a huge threat for serious injuries throughout the playoffs, and that needs to stop. The stick can be used as a lethal weapon when placed in the wrong hands and the refs have a duty to call these assaults.

    The Islanders still need to shoot more,especially from the slot, instead, of waiting for the perfect play and capitalize on the back door chances. Great job controlling the neutral ice area and taking the faceoffs. Stay aggressive in Tampa next game from the drop of the puck till the end of the game. It certainly could’ve gone the other way, and it was the real Stanley cup final.
