Hi Chetna, thank you for a really lovely video .. that cake looks divine. I must say you present your cooking in a very beautiful manner, so natural and with a lot of character. Keep up the good work Chetna. Regards, Shefali
Thank you so much for this recipe! I followed the recipe in your Cardamom Trail cookbook and made this for a friend's 52nd birthday and everyone loved it! Thank you again for making her celebration a memorable event!
Thank you for sharing this recepie! I have tried few recepies from your book like Dates and Walnut cake, saffron Rasgoola's, Mango pannacotta,Walnut and hazelnut Laddoos all are yummy!! And my daughter loved it. Thankyou ! 🤗 I would like to know if Double cream and whipped cream are the same?I used whipped cream for pannacotta. But I m not sure if I did the right thing.
hi chetna I recently came across you videos and I must say I absolutely love love...you inspire me to cook....vl definitely try your recipes.keep up the good work.
Looks sooo yummy 😋 Alphonso is my favorite mango too, I can almost taste the cake in my head! Got to make it! Thank you for the recipe 😊 Love your presentation n ur little helper.
This looks wonderful! Reminds me of times when I used to bake with my mum. Chetna, please could you do some eggless cakes! I want to be able to bake for my boyfriend's family and I know your recipes won't fail me. Much love from Singapore!
This was the first thing I made from your cookbook. It's a great cake! Next time I will try cubing the mango on top. It was such a treat to come home to at night after work. Your pear cardamom caramel upside down cake came next and is also great. Finishing eating this today and then on to Honey and Rose. Even got the Indian rose petals! :-)
You can use many things to replace an egg. Buttermilk ( put a spoon and a half of vinegar in 1/3 cup of milk as a substitute for 1 egg), yoghurt ( with soda), chia seeds, flax seeds, banana, avocado, apple sauce...
Hi Chetna!! Lovely cake , Made it today. The sponge reminded me of the mawa cakes at Merwans, Mumbai because of the cardamom I guess. However my frosting was a bit runny, not sure because of the mangoes which were soft or because I used Elmlea. However the frosting was so tasty I used it to make another dessert by layering it in between rich tea biscuits and the leftover slices of mango! Thank you so much for the recipe!
I made this cake last night and it was delicious!! Thank you so much! One question about using self-rising flour and baking powder together (as the recipe calls for)...doesn't self-rising flour already have baking powder in it? I'm a novice baker, so am a bit confused. Thanks, Denise
So glad you enjoyed the cake, yes self raising flour already has some baking powder but a cake needs a bit more. Cupcakes on the other hand are made with just the self raising flour as that is enough for them.
This looks amazing! Do you have a conversion for non-self rising flour? I made the white chocolate cardamom cake and I was obsessed! I googled a conversion but it seemed like too much baking powder! What do you use if you don't have self-rising flour on hand?
Hi Chetna, I love this delicious cake! I'm wondering what other fruits you think work well when it's difficult to get fresh mango? I can always use tinned...but I really like the fresh fruit with such a fresh tasting cake. Thanks!
i'm making this today :D however i'm not sure we can finish it in one go. what would you say about storing it? Also the helper is always lovely to watch :D such a cutie
i made it! the mascarpone was to be found nowhere around. So i substituted it using a pseudo mascarpone made out of cream cheese, sour cream and whipping cream! loved the idea of mango chunks in the frosting...i ate the remaining frosting with a spoon, it was so delicious. thanks for this recipe and all the help
This looks amazing. I want to make for my family but have a few coconut haters. Do I need to adjust any other of the ingredients since I'd be leaving the coconut out?
This recepie looks great, due to allergies I can not have mangos in the house. Would you substitute the mango for another food like strawberries or just make it without adding any fruit? Just wondering flavor you think would go well with the coconut and cardamon.
You can skip the mangoes if you want, make it without any fruit if you like. Or you could add strawberries or top the cake with pistachios which will be a great match for coconut and cardamom!
Chetna, thanks for the recipe and am going to buy cardamom trail from amazon. I have a few doubts about pan conversions like if recipe asks for 9x13 pan , how can i convert the recipe to my baking tin preference ( 8-inch) ?
Chetna, I asked the above question because i read few recipes from magazines like "Southern Living" where some cakes like coffee cake ask for 9x13 inch sheet pan.So, thought to ask you about the basic conversion for cake recipes depending upon the cake tin in hand. Also, am planning to make your chocolate torte cake this weekend so i was wondering did you use a 8 inch tin or 9 inch tin?. Thank you chetna for your replies and Hi-5 to little helper.
Hi Chetna, Can I use frozen mangoes instead? Its winter here in Australia at the moment and so its quite difficult to source mangoes. I do however want to make this recipe so badly. What do you reckon?
Hi Chetna, thank you for a really lovely video .. that cake looks divine. I must say you present your cooking in a very beautiful manner, so natural and with a lot of character. Keep up the good work Chetna.

Gosh I can only imagine how great that tastes! It looks absolutely beautiful
It does taste great, do try!
OMG! such an amazing cake and presentation! I love alphanso mango :) and coconut! Yum yum! What should I use instead of eggs?
You can use many things to replace an egg. Buttermilk ( put a spoon and a half of vinegar in 1/3 cup of milk as a substitute for 1 egg), yoghurt ( with soda), chia seeds, flax seeds, banana, avocado, apple sauce...
I tried the cake and it came out amazing! It was absolutely divine! My family and friends loved it! Thank you very much! :D
Yeah! so so glad you all loved it, thanks for letting me know.

It looks incredible! Definitely trying this once my exams are over.
Do try and hope you will enjoy.
I have watched this video so many times. The cake looks yummy. Good job both of you

Hi Chetna, I love this delicious cake! I'm wondering what other fruits you think work well when it's difficult to get fresh mango? I can always use tinned...but I really like the fresh fruit with such a fresh tasting cake. Thanks!
Hi Chetna :)! What cardamom color did you use?
Always green cardamom for desserts
Fantastic recipe! I didn't have mascarpone, so I used some strained, plain Greek yogurt instead. Delicious!
Oh nice one!
Looks yummy 😋
It sure is!
i'm making this today :D however i'm not sure we can finish it in one go. what would you say about storing it? Also the helper is always lovely to watch :D such a cutie
You can cover and store this in the fridge for 4-5 days and whenever you want to eat some remove it from the fridge 30 minutes before eating.
i made it! the mascarpone was to be found nowhere around. So i substituted it using a pseudo mascarpone made out of cream cheese, sour cream and whipping cream! loved the idea of mango chunks in the frosting...i ate the remaining frosting with a spoon, it was so delicious. thanks for this recipe and all the help
That is such good news, so happy you enjoyed it.
This looks amazing. I want to make for my family but have a few coconut haters. Do I need to adjust any other of the ingredients since I'd be leaving the coconut out?
It's almost 11 pm in Holland but I sure would like a taste of a cake like that.
Hope you will be trying it soon.
I almost took a bite out of my phone
hahaha
So delicious!
Delicious Chetna Thankyou 😊
You are welcome Karen.

Food with Chetna Alright, thank you!
can we use creamcheese instead??
Yes you can.
Chetna, thanks for the recipe and am going to buy cardamom trail from amazon.
I have a few doubts about pan conversions
like if recipe asks for 9x13 pan , how can i convert the recipe to my baking tin preference ( 8-inch) ?
If you let me know which recipe you are talking about I will be able to help.
The chocolate cake can be made using 8 inch cake tin.
Delish cake :):) Made it for the in-laws. They loved it :)
Yeah, so good to hear that!
So cute! That looks delectable :-)
Thanks, glad you like it.
Is that black top from Fabindia? ☺
Mmmmmmmm!!!!!
Yes that is exactly what you would say if you ate it.
adorable girls ! :)))
Awww thanks.
Hi Chetna, Can I use frozen mangoes instead? Its winter here in Australia at the moment and so its quite difficult to source mangoes. I do however want to make this recipe so badly. What do you reckon?
Yes you can use frozen mango or even better use mango puree.
How can I replace the cheese?!
Like I mentioned in the video if you don't want the cheese then you can use only the cream.
Nice
Thanks.
Just subbed your channel and requesting to subscribe my channel if you can :)
I'm not a fan of coconut, but I would love to make this. Could I just replace it with more flour?
No you can skip the coconut if you dont like it but keep the other ingredients the same. The cake will still taste amazing. Let me know how it goes.
It was so good, everyone loved it! I'm making again today for a friend's birthday.
20 cm tins for us in the global majority...
