This is basically an ultimatum to other companies to drop the prices heavily or they'll get brutalized by this board
Yes and no. Other companies can still charge more by always having stock available. The QK65 is an incredible board, but even with how quick Owlabs can turn their product around, it's a barrier to entry to have to wait on a GB window and then wait another 6-8 weeks for delivery (even if that's fast in the keyboard community).

@@CosmicApe I think the goal is to have the qk65 always in stock.
@@RealColeFarlow That might be the goal but we'll see what the reality ends up being. With the current global supply chain and the fact that Owlabs will continue to focus on new products, I personally doubt we'll see the QK65 become a genuinely "in stock" product. At best I think they'll stock a low volume of ready-to-ship units that once sold out won't restock for a couple months. Essentially it'll be a disguised GB.
@@CosmicApe would be surprised if they didn’t focus on their most sold keyboard ever. If not, then that’s just bad business. It’s a simple business tactic that they would focus on the product that gets them the most sales/views/traction/etc.
Even if it is their cheapest product. Just my opinion. If they want trust from their customers, they’ll follow through on their promises when it comes to their most sought after product.
Love how qwerty keys are able to mass produce a premium board and drop the price by so much.

I hope they do a QK75 soon. I used to only want 65% boards but I’d pick up a QK75 in a heartbeat.

I love what qwertykeys is doing. Other companies would sell such a board for double the price, since people would buy it. Owlabs is really doing everyone a favour with this release.
yes, and their factories are just so good. Smaller companies can't really compete unfortunately.

except you can never buy anything from them. The ordering process is ridiculous.
This board is 190$ shipped. If anyone charged nearly 400$ for this board they would be torn apart for the production corners they cut. The entire inner half of the weight is factory raw. Like unfinished metal. Lets just appreciate this board without making stabs at other companies. I embrace the majority of high end boards and their prices, and rarely do I see a price that can’t be represented in the final product somehow. Little QC details really add up to manufacturing costs. This board is OwLabs answer to the INCREDIBLE popularity their Jelly and Suit earned them. A ton of quarantine keebers just want that marble boy on their desk and this is the answer for them. But to say this would cost double from anyone else is just not true. God imagine a 400$ rev 2 knock off with bakeneko QC? People would riot.
@@stryke1989 don’t forget the mode65 that looks hugely similar starts at double the price, and much higher with aftermarket prices. Of course the inner isn’t unfinished like in this case, but is it really worth paying >2x the price for something you can’t see from outside?
What a great board set. Worth every penny. Keybored has a good idea that explains the price point as the lower inner part is cast aluminium instead of expensive cnc. Anyway glad to see various setup for this board and all come out great
Does it sound ass without plate foam? I don't think I've seen anyone review it with none of the foam
*Edit, Jaeyou comparison video has a sound test with zero foam, sounds great*
Keyboards can sound good without foam it’s just foam usually makes the sound better since things like hollowness can be a problem

In my opinion, the qk65. The spacebar on the zoom65 sounds kinda bad and the board itself sounds like a plastic prebuilt without foam.

While I agree that it’s a fairly good value, it’s important to note that after tax, shipping, and a special color choice, you’re checking out at $220+. So calling it $150 is more than a stretch.

I kinda hate how the finished board sounds. Has too much pop imo lol. Still sounds better than most keyboards though.
Wow I have a couple boards. Space 80, portal and a k6. That board is so loud shheeeeshh. Sound like popcorn. I want a deeper thud like sound.
Dude the board is one of the most basic foam abused muted sound case you can get for thocc. The popcorn sound which you oddly describe it is just how the switches are. Explain what you mean by thud? You want a 0 upstroke sound? Lol.
@@UnusualPudding there is definitely no need to be rude here. That sound profile isn’t pleasing to me. Maybe some silent switches would be better for me. My personal opinion.

i just bought a tm680 and now this appears
