Another group of amazing guests. Joel, your channel just gets better and better. I agree the Phd guest is invaluable. All three are so interesting, but he was fascinating.
In hindsight, this panel (especially Dr Brucato) was spot on about the suspect (assuming the correct perpetrator is the person currently in custody). Phenomenal show and phenomenal guests.
At around 24-26 minutes the man on the bottom right talks about envy and how the individual could be lashing out at those he perceives as accepted, desirable, loved, and socially relaxed. I like many others during adolescence have experienced this envy. It can be quite painful and I can remember the frustration, sadness, and sometimes anger at my own social difficulties and not being as accepted as I would have liked. Fortunately I worked through it like most people. We don’t know it it’s the motive but I can see how a disturbed individual could decide to project their inner turmoil onto others. The inability to tolerate and work through the anger and frustration can certainly be all it might take which is disturbing in and of itself.
@@jo-eo9ld True. Remember this is likely a very disturbed individual. They’re not thinking logically like you and I. Could be a way to gain perceived control over others. Again illogical and disturbed.
This was very well done. Appreciate the input from you and your guests. Most all of us watching social media true crime have had many, if not all, these examples in our minds. I pray the murderer has or will make big mistakes and not remain elusive. In my young years, I have had stalkers, very strange guys that attached themselves to me for no reason, guys that were immediately angry with me for being out going, outspoken, and almost fearless. I trained and rode huge horses and they seemed to feel that made me a woman “being overpowering.” There was more than a few times I actually hid from some of them. It hit me that I was at the beginning of women’s lib. Yep. The guest stating it caused more hate crimes and DV, if you will, toward women being liberated was something I watched first hand. Even my mother felt I needed to realize that could happen and would get angry with me for expressing opinions and “no being lady-like.” When the videos hit YT showing the girls “putting themselves out there” I posted that while they were so very beautiful and could do that, it wasn’t the best/safest behavior, as I learned from experience. Thank you again for your content and allowing us a platform for a public comment/missive. 🙏🏻
@Debra Weber Yes, I don't think many people can fully understand & see the gravity of the darker aspects of women's lib. Even if you just look at how women have evolved to do pretty much anything, everything but the guys didn't get the memo to catch up, cook dinners, grocery shop, clean the house, do laundry, etc., women's lib was supposed to be about equal rights, not women to it all & then some & then we subconsciously hate them for it ;) lol. but not lol.
You're very right. All you have to do nowadays is be in the wrong place at the wrong time and one of these psycho animals can become attached to you through no fault of your own.

Dr. Brucato is unbelievably intelligent! I’m a first time watcher and I’ll be back. Very thought provoking conversation…love Anne…long standing expert and I love hearing their perspective. With so little info, very interesting
Wow what amazing guests! I agree with the Dr. Bracato on absolutely everything he said. Envy, meticulous planning, obsessing, rage, odd-duck-type, choice of intimate weapon, all resonate as accurate. Unless the police KNOW who the person is and it isn't as meticulous as they are letting on, but they don't have enough actual evidence for conviction.
and he mentioned them getting into that hunting mode which plays along with the fact the coroner said each victim had a specific lethal wound, which to me means he cut their throats so to mask any noise which also leads to the excessive blood dripping to the outer wall
As I watch this show, I am riveted by the quality of thought. And the hosting job is really top drawer. totally informed on the info, but just directing the input from the guests. Worthy of 5 million views on a major network. Keep on truckin'!

I feel like everyone in that house was targeted. Perp got in through back window or sliding door. Goes straight up to 3rd floor. Either Maddie or Kaylee was able to let out a short scream. That scream woke up Ethan and left bedroom to see what was going on. Perp came down to 2nd floor and came face to face with Ethan. Ethan turned and tried to get back in bedroom and lock the door, but he didn’t get door closed and perp attacked him. Xana was awaken by their struggle and was able to fight for her life when perp attacked her. Perp then went to the 1st floor and realized both of those bedroom doors were locked He knew if he broke down one door, it would wake up the last tenant so he just bolted out of the front door. Just my opinion
I actually feel that the perp would eliminate Ethan first as he would be the biggest threat physically. Then Xana obviously at which point he would travel upstairs to Maddie and Kaylee. I also feel like that's why Kaylee's Dad said he didn't have to go upstairs. That's just my opinion but it makes sense of what most criminals would do. Logically.
@@Ms.Norths.Musings When the Dad said He didn't need go upstairs ",it was rumoured that the girls were sleeping in empty room on same floor,as it was warmer n near furnace!?? Idk. .LE said they have not revealed any information to anyone not even parents so again..the poor Dad is angry n grieving,so speaking out of context?.
@Veronica Gower I don't think he's speaking out of context more grasping at straws since the families are getting no information at all. Not even how they died. I feel the dad is gathering info from online the funeral home or homes and trying to make sense of it. I can understand le not giving any info but then I can't for the families as well. I honestly think if they were given info and told not to speak out about it they wouldn't. Them not getting info is making it harder for them in this already horrific tragedy. They are victims as well and don't feel they are being treated as such. Just my opinion.
And Kaylee was only there for the weekend, she was leaving Sun., she had already moved out. she was just visiting and I think the killer knew that and it was his last chance to get her.
Kaylee’s dad is just stating his version of what makes sense out of all the scenarios he’s reading online. He views himself as the protector of his family and he’s feeling like he failed (WHICH HE DID NOT). I think him taking on that misplaced guilt is causing him to read all the speculations and then he’s telling a combination that he thinks fits best
💯 I am a certified victim advocate and you can see it in his face - he’s struggling and spinning. Trying to make sense of something senseless and feeling powerless in the face of tragedy. He needs some trained support. I know the FBI has a advocacy team. I wonder if they are out there?
Not sure why the criminal's parents are not being profiled. Criminal seems to have very troublesome relationship with parents and how they were brought up.
Kaylee's family is in shock and her dad feels like he needs to do something besides wait for the cops to solve it. They have experienced severe trauma and also have no answers, so they are exhausting themselves trying to solve this crime.
Their public reactions are still highly unusual for family members of murder victims. Their personality may contribute to this, but, still highly unusual.
First in my option any time a knife is used, (when it is released) where the wounds were placed and what was done, you are going to feel this was indeed sexual rage. I think we will find out it was not just stab wounds. This was not a random kill, the person that did this was familiar with the weapon, and he knew these girls, and has been watching them and the house.
Love this video. Better than any other I’ve seen this far. Really explains what’s possible. So scary. I can’t even look at a papercut…. Please keep following this case. These poor kids!
Something I believe overlooked. The killer knew how drunk and passed out these vulnerable souls where. The killer had the upper hand and took advantage.
Yes, I thought of that. Why else would he have the chutzpah to break into a house occupied by 6 people? I doubt he anticipated a male being there, but he knew the occupants had been drinking and waited for the lights to go out. Once they were in bed asleep, the victims were even more vulnerable. I wonder if the perpetrator could see the lights in the house go out from his own residence.
GREAT panel! The envy factor lovely Ann mentioned stuck out to me. All the victims are to be envied. And the perp must of had a real thrill in ending their great successful futures. Like, see, so much for your great lives, and I am the one who put an end to it.
Yesss. I’ve said this from the start. I believe this is somebody who feels rejected by society or feels rejected by this particular group of people. I’ve also said that right now he/she is probably watching their P’s and Q’s, however if this turns into a cold case, I think their ego is inflated to where they’ll be able to strike again. Maybe not in Idaho though. Overall it’s horrifying to think about this turning into a cold case. 4 victims who deserve justice. I know law enforcement is doing everything that they can ❤
it takes years/months to become a cold case we are only in our 4th week. So much DNA and leads to go through will take weeks/months. Keep the faith people.
I'm watching this on January 6, several days after the arrest of the alleged perpetrator because I wanted to see how accurate you would be. I'm extremely impressed by all four of you and I will definitely be looking each of you up in the future whenever I'm looking for answers that I can have confidence in. Thank you, you definitely have my respect. BTW, I would really like to hear your opinion of Israel Keyes, I think he could have cleared up many murders if that case had been handled better.
This is an excellent and useful contribution to the ongoing analyses regarding the Idaho tragedy, and is a standard well above most, in my opinion! Thank you 😇
I have always thought it could be envy of the whole group by one person. The four were frequently sharing their shared experiences on Facebook and other social media and they seemed to have this "perfect "joy and happiness together. I think this was the specific characteristic of their group that could have promoted envy and profound hurt in others. It would be awful for any person who might have been or felt "rejected" by this particular group. I'm a group psychoanalyst, UK.
Sally Willis I've thought about this extremely important factor as well! It's helpful to know that a group psychoanalyst has verified it. I'm aware that situations can look much better on Facebook etc than in reality, or even from the outside looking in, in real life, so it would be a shame if it was the main cause of four precious young people losing their lives! It's a tragedy that it happened for ANY reason though. 😥
@Sally Willis what a great comment. I was thinking the same. It reads as someone who hates what these victims stood for, while at the same time wishing that they could be a very part of it…….
Well, officially I'm completely hooked on your show. This case is beyond heartbreaking 💔. This Evil Creature took the lives of four wonderful human beings who had bright futures. Thank You for mentioning the possibility of my theory I greatly appreciate it.
Sometimes the questions I want to ask are so horrific to imagine that I rather not ask it. I think it's been asked and answered already. Terrible horrific tragedy.
As a woman, I think realistically that a woman could try to kill with a knife but in most cases wouldn't have the strength to overpower 3 other people, including another man.
@@annresnik6059 Yes, women absolutely DO knife murders. Jodi Arias and Ezra McCandless both did. And those were both Ego/Rage murders, intended to be personal, painful, violent, and degrading. Of men they had been in relationships with. But these murders? No.. impersonal murders, of women - multiple women, especially with a knife or knives. That is absolutely the work of an inadequate man. And it is a pretty good bet that we can guess what side his political sympathies are.
@@greenman6141 , this is what Leftism does to people, politicizes everything. Damn it, this is an existential tragedy, not the result of political obsession.
fantastic panel you put together here! I'm very impressed by their knowledge and way of explaining in an easily understandable way. Up until now I was leaning towards a stalker or someone being bullied by one ore several of the victims, as it's also being supported by the overkill on one of the victims. Actually it's a lot more scary to think the murderer didn't target anyone specifically or for a reason one could kind of 'understand'.
Hi to all, Anne and the FBI guy are just so great could listen to these 2 all day, the fbi guy just flows in conversation on this subject, knowledge is king, thank you all
When my son and husband were killed, I had many premonitions that led me to know certain facts about the killings that could easily have made me a suspect. In my shock and grief, I didn't even think about what this may appear to look like to others. I just wanted this man caught asap because I knew he would be suicidal. People need to take psychic ability more seriously. It's a real deal.
After watching this, reminded me of Danny Rolling, the Gainesville killer. He used same kind of knife, weird loner, history of being a “peeping tom” when young. He kept his victims from screaming by duct taping their mouths. He broke in one victims house & waited for her to come home. Another had a male roommate whom he killed first. He didn’t know any of his victims, but stalked them. He was living in a tent in the woods in Gainesville. He was caught by great detective work as he had previously murdered in his home town of Shreveport, and the similarities were noted. Then he was discovered to have been arrested for an unrelated robbery in Ocala and that is how they caught him. It’s a horrific but interesting case to read about… he was a total psychopath. I keep thinking this murderer knew exactly who was in that house and where….just conjecture, but think he took out Ethan first. I thought I read initially that one victim was found on the floor? Also, heard on another channel, that one of the surviving roommates went up to kitchen & discovered someone dead. She woke up other roommate, they went outside hysterical. She was the unconscious person. Neighbors came & called police from her phone. This is totally unsubstantiated, but was supposedly called in by someone who was a neighbor there. Interesting and makes sense.
Totally agree. This is a dangerous diabolical killer. He had to be incredibly controlled and strong to murder FOUR people with only a knife. And probably didn’t leave any evidence either. This is not some weird 20 something who’s jealous. And if they don’t catch him, and I don’t think they will, he’ll do it again.
It took 4 months to catch Rolling and that was only because he did something stupid that got him caught. The robbery in Ocala , then he mentioned he liked to hurt people with knives. Unfortunately this Idaho thing may take some time 🤷♂️
@@russheins6458 Thanks for the clarification. At least he was caught. The only reason I remember it with semiaccuracy is because I lived in Florida then.
I was actually living there in 86-87 going to Santa Fe Community College and left a few years before that happened. However, I had family who were still living there at the time of his rampage. They said everyone was terrified, especially after a bigger guy was killed with one of the gals. Apparently they have now caught the person responsible for the Idaho murders. Guy is almost exactly what a female profiler said he would be … socially awkward and slightly strange. That’s what people who know this guy are saying about him… WOW.
@@russheins6458 Yes, from what is known thus far, he seems like the classic weirdo that can’t fit in. It’s hard to fathom when they talk about what was his motive, that it can be simply because he felt like killing and/or had some unreasonable grudge against one or all of them. Glad he’s behind bars.
First, great discussion. All panel members had interesting perspectives. Regarding the 911 call, my understanding is one of the girls from the 1st floor came up and saw Ethen dead and ran out of the home and passed out and someone outside of the home walking by saw her, used her phone and called 911. So they were not referring to one of the deceased individuals when they said someone was unconscious.
That's what I've heard about the 911 call the past couple of days. It really annoyed and saddened me that the surviving roommates were being vilified by people for not calling 911 themselves, before having details about exactly what occurred. Those poor young women are also victims. ❤❤
What I heard was that one of the girls from the first floor found Ethan on the second floor and ran out of the house I believe she had dialed 911. But she was so distraught and apparently passed out and the one she had called to come to the house arrived and picked up the phone and finished the call.

I can personally speak to being absolutely, uncharacteristically, emotionless, hours after a very traumatic event - our son, passed, in a bedroom, only feet from me,with a police guard standing in front of his closed door. The mind does strange things to protect our sanity. I look back on this horrible day and cannot begin to understand how me and my husband were acting so ‘normal’, when we were far from it. Shock does this.
But did you go on interviews nearly every day for 4weeks to talk publically about everything, & never show any emotion? I think the man must be bipolar to act like this.
Very sorry for your son's passing. But however tragic, acting 'emotionless' or rather going through robotic motions is far more normal than speaking publically about it, daily. If his reactions were like someone has suggested, because of sedatives, he would be less active, not more so. Grief does go through stages. After losing 4 people you know all at once, I seriously hope all families & friends seek medical & mental help asap.

The third man saying the killer would be someone people would find odd, gave the best description of what the killer would be like around people.
If you constantly think about violence and killing you would appear odd to others without a doubt....
That reminds me of the Kristen Smart case ! Everyone said that Paul Flores was an odd guy and wouldnt be suprised that he did that.
When JS drank, he "became" another person entirely. That persona even had it's own name (Terry). Xana commented on a pic of JS hugging a bear something like "Well hello, Terry." If that's not odd, I don't know what is

@@jo-eo9ld
True.

Ann Burgess is so knowledgeable, I could listen to her all day!
Thanks, Jennifer! I'm glad we are on the same page.
I agree. I thought from the beginning that this was no college student crime, this was a psychopath.
and he mentioned them getting into that hunting mode which plays along with the fact the coroner said each victim had a specific lethal wound, which to me means he cut their throats so to mask any noise which also leads to the excessive blood dripping to the outer wall

Fantastic panel. Absolutely Fantastic. Thank you for bringing to the public this information.
Logically.
How would you know that though?!
@@Ms.Norths.Musings When the Dad said He didn't need go upstairs ",it was rumoured that the girls were sleeping in empty room on same floor,as it was warmer n near furnace!?? Makes the most sense cause the front door was wide open at 8-830
Am makes sense

Absolutely agree! What’s the chances.... of it being just coincidence (she was leaving/just visiting!).
Her mom said she told her she would be home Tuesday
Her roommates told some friends she was coming in and told her ex. ???
How do u know that?
Kaylee posted on instagram that she was in Moscow that weekend…….I bet he stalked her social media.

Please have Ann (legend!) and Gary (so insightful!) back on again. This was an excellent discussion. Thank you. Have subbed.
I know crimes like this can be sexual rage, but usually not 4 people at once
I think 2 of the girls were…the other 2 were woken up by what was going on…
This is great. To put a group of pros together, and work through this. Very insightful.
@@polkadots716 yep or he is sitting in that parking lot at the back of the house.

This is one of the best analysis of the Idaho murders that I’ve seen.
Great show! You are an excellent interviewer and your guests are top notch!! I'm hooked!

I’ve rewatched this, it is truly one of the BEST in depth analysis (pre arrest). Would you please schedule the panel when the trial starts. Thank you.
Envy isn’t Green like they say it’s Red. Red as blood

"I don't think there's any chance this is not a male suspect" It's great when someone just says the truth without waffle.
It's sooo nice.
And it is a pretty good bet that we can guess what side his political sympathies are.

fantastic panel you put together here!

When my son and husband were killed, I had many premonitions that led me to know certain facts about the killings that could easily have made me a suspect. I love this phd guy. He is so interesting and full of knowledge. Get him back!!
& ask them to report on it??

What I heard was that one of the girls from the first floor found Ethan on the second floor and ran out of the house I believe she had dialed 911.
