Keeling speaks with such simple eloquence and mastery regarding this process. He clearly appreciates the process without pompously communicating his knowledge, rather respectfully sharing his thorough understanding. He’s humble. To watch him and to listen to him describe the technical aspects of the fire, the ash and the coals is to sit with an expert who clearly remains enthralled by the beauty of the process and the limitless curiosity of this art. What a truly lovely and engrossing film.
"There is no irony in art in Japan" and that is why i am mesmerized by it. Its not a joke and I have a dream one day to be able to witness it in action. I dream of doing my own pottery one day and I will never come close, but at least a glimpse of this art would be a bucket list experience. Thank you Jim and Goldmark for this beautiful experience, never disappointing!
Very thoughtful and well presented with great knowledge of the subject, history and a real understanding of the work which was clearly conveyed. Fascinating. Dunno about the hat.
We have some of Koichiro Isezaki's pottery in addition to our collection of Phil Rogers'. Isezaki's work is absolutely sublime and I am so grateful for the pleasure of watching this video presentation. Thank you so much!
What a beautiful commentary - revealing the humility and wisdom in the pottery world that makes the wisdom fluid and available. First the material, then get to know the process, then things bring out the character of the material and the process….. you can carry that phrase through a lifetime of making.
Beautiful film full with warmth and deep understanding...l follow it gratefully to have such an opportunity to learn and to enjoy this beautiful pottery. Thank you
I see that you have experience of style and simple shape. Good and great how you exponed. I am Italian and expert in the subject of fashion .We are in continues to evolve. Do you feel this?
the greatness of japanese pottery and general craftsmanship celebrating simplicity, nature and art, all in once the anime in all things, without sullying it wiht the western utilitarianism
I agree with the Japanese way, apparently that's what I do , i'm a rare hand sewing artist , invented my own technique of really uniquely beautiful art, I feel like a secret/LOL!

I like his hat.
You're not the only one!
It is an Afghan pakol hat.
Watch him juggle unique works of art, each probably worth a few thousand pounds, gave me cramps.
Us too!
Who else is here for the HAT?
Is this for real?
Respect from Russian… 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
