      The game play of this version is more responsive than the original. But that's the case for the 1st iteration of early arcade fighters(because fighting games were still in their early days). Fatal Fury 1, World Heroes 1, and the 1st version Street Fighter 2 are more responsive on their console counterparts.

      @@andresescobar6052 I think so too, the NeoGeo soundtrack is good, but SNES' is more dynamic and has a very good vibe. The game lacks certain background details, but it was able to emulate the zooming feature. If it had let's say 20 megs instead of 16, it could have had the cinematics in between fights and perhaps the missing details for most of the stages. But overall a great conversion considering the original had 102 megs and was the first game to enter the 100Mega shock category for the NeoGeo.

    • @Bloodreign1
      @Bloodreign1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not an actual zoom effect on the PCE verrsion, but the screen would constantly change resolutions to fake the scaling, and it wasn't very smooth (it is the weakest SNK fighting game port on the console, whereas World Heroes 2, Fatal Fury 2, and Fatal Fury Special were awesome). The SNES version, due to it being native to the hardware, had very smooth scaling.

    Remember buying this way back in 1994, I bought it as the graphics looked good and the box said zoom in and out fighting lol I thought how cool is that just like the neogeo, I had seen screen shots of the neogeo version in the mags at the time and it looked cool and the snes looked just like it and being a massive neogeo fan at the time but to poor to own one as it was a rich kids Console, the snes version was awesome I spent hours playing this it was a top notch conversion, most of neo to snes conversions wee good except fatal fury, that was always better of the mega drive.

      Fatal Fury 1 was awful on both consoles, the MD version had 2 missing characters, including Billy Kane, a key right hand man to Geese.

    lmao i remember this game growing up and how much i hated fighting Micky not only cause he cheated on hard but because how anti-manly he sounds when he's hit and when he does his "upper" move

    Excellent game, it is one of my favorites for the SNES. the music is really cool, especially the theme of Mr. Big and Jack Turner. in the past I had my collection but I sold it and now I am trying to rebuild it. Greetings and thanks for sharing. 😁

    i just "love" how 90% of the hits one tries to make in this game just hit thin air right in front of the opponent; or get hopelessly blocked EVERY and then responded whit an instant brutal technique that takes 30% of your energy while you cant even dream of responding in such manner cuz the controlls are so bad you have to be like a gamer guru to stand a chance against the FIRST GUY ... so much fun

    If you could put the voice and sound effects from the SNES together with the graphics and music of the Genesis, you'd have the ultimate 16-bit version of AoF.

    I love the short and sweet intro. And I gotta say, I don't think you can get a more badass intro than one that shows a guy breaking blocks of *diamond* with his bare hands.
    Or was it ice? Why would you break ice blocks? It had to be diamond, right?

    i know these games were hard as fuck but you gotta love the story and characters for AOF 1,2 and Fatal Fury 1,they play like an 80's-early 90's cheesy martial arts flick

    Well, in AOF1, Geese was away on business, so Big was left in charge of Southtown. The kidnapping of Yuri was solely Big's plan to blackmail Takuma to help him overthrow Geese. Geese only got involved in AOF2, and started the tournament to draw the Sakazaki family to compete, and the ending of AOF2 leads into Fatal Fury. As for KOF, no. KOF is a spinoff series and follows it own story arcs and timeline.

    Personally I prefer the original version of the story, with Takuma working for Geese due to extortion, not to pay gambling debts, specially if we take account that this game makes him the one who killed Jeff Bogard.
