New sub here - only been away twice in a van and both in our 60s - never argued as much in 34 years when we are pitching up but this has been so helpful, thankyou 👍
Just emptied our caravan ( only had it 2 months) for a new one, it’s only a 2 berth but I filled it with “accessories” as though we were gonna be stuck in a field for 2 years! Will be definitely taking the minimalist approach now 😂
We waited 6 months for our compass casita 454. We are away for our first trip at Sutton on sea. We’ve watched a lot of your blogs which we’ve found very instructional thanks.
Thanks for watching. I’ve seen someone use a bowl of water as a spirit level. I guess you could make a cup of tea and check the level from throat. Kill 2 birds with one stone 🤷♂️😁
Getting a torque wrench and checking your wheel nuts before each trip is absolutely essential. I was the same as you and didn't own one but since a wheel fell off I do now! Fortunately I was going very slowly as I approached a junction but it still cost nearly £10,000 to repair as the wheel punched a hole through the caravan floor! God bless good insurance that's what I say!
We are still waiting to collect our new van. I too have had many different cheap mirrors, all false economy. Just buy a milenco set great quality and will last as long as all the cheap ones put together. We always prefer the convex type. One thing I'd add to the list is a bottle blue toilet fluid. Pretty much everything else you can collect over time. Problem we have is that we have too much!
My wife and I have waited6 months for our Compass Casita 454. We picked it up a week ago and are away at Sutton on sea for a week. We have followed your vlogs + Facebook page and found them very informative many thanks you’ve provided us with lots of useful information and enjoyment! Thanks
I often wonder if there is a caravan vent cover cartel in operation. £45 for two pieces of plastic to cover the vents on my swift basecamp! How does everyone else cover their fridge vent when washing the outside of their caravan?
Thanks for watching. I know what you mean. TBH it was designed as a slow burning, so that beginners would find it months from now and should be relevant to them. As if I'd vlog me washing the caravan, you've gone crazy...However, I have a vlog of watching me watch paint dry.... 😇😂
Yeah i prob should have had that advice about not buying everything at once!! ha ha but way i see, im only going to buy it at some point an i had budgeted for it so i dont mind.
Thanks for watching. Yeah I’m a nightmare buying accessories. There’s always something I convince myself I need (want). It’s all good when it’s in budget 👍🏻No point in having every accessory going and can’t afford to use the flipping thing 🤔😆
Thanks for watching. Yes, it's most certainly an essential item. Now that's not to say that I have one, but, being a reasonable vlogger, I must advise others to get one 😂 I don't have one...
😂 It would have been a 5 hour vlog if I'd have mentioned everything you need. Anyway, keep suggestions coming, I'll include in part two, three, four, five.....😆
Ok Graham, that was factual, it looked slightly like a hostage video, lot of edits, how bad was the stuff you( your captors) took out, guessing you lining up for a " accessories you need inside , tv, etc. (front cover?) you seem a bit sad, hope everythings ok
Thanks for watching. Yes, I'm being held hostage by the caravan vlogger's guild of evil , send help 😂 No wonder I'm looking sad and slightly frightened.... Nope, all good here thanks. Yes, the dreaded jump cut, which I am guilty of over using. I leave stuff in most might consider "bad", normally they're the funniest (subjective) bits. I do cut out umms, errs and bits where I'm looking vacantly at the camera hoping for inspiration! Ah, I already have an accessories inside the caravan vlog, not that it would stop me doing it again of course. It's good to do this type of vlog every once in a while. Normal weekly vlogs are good for a week and hopefully offer regular viewers entertainment (again subjective 😆). These style of vlogs can continue to help new caravanners for a while as and when needed... All part of my plan for world domination, of course. Onwards!
@@CaravanVlogger see the site you mentioned where you were side on a hill with piles of wood to level side to side, could you not just spin it round and level front to back easier( just proving i watched whole video) 😂😂

You could use a spirit level app on your smartphone. You can also check your nose weight with bathroom scales and a piece of timber under the hitch

This is really useful for me. I’ve just bought my first caravan and haven’t a clue what I need.
Thanks for watching. Perfect you’re exactly who it’s aimed at 👍🏻
Don't forget the toaster either! Other essential accessories are a torch and a spanner for the gas bottle if you don't have handled pig tail.

Thanks for watching and the kind words, I'm glad they've been helpful. Enjoy your caravan and keep us posted about your travel on the facebook group 👍
Deep pockets 🤣 Good list though. You forgot the corkscrew and wine 🍷😃👍🏻 Trev
Thanks for watching Trev. Ah that’s in part 2 🤭😆
Thanks about to buy our first Van 👍👍

Not your best Graham but still made me smile,, 👍👍,, you will be washing the caravan next 🙄🙄

Trust you :-) Thanks for watching..
Kettle, dont forget the kettle. 😀
Thanks for watching. Haha kettle is part 2 😂😆
Your right Graham loads to buy, we did a Johnny Cash, we got one piece at a time 😂
Thanks for watching Colin 👍🏻
Realised we only need a frying pan and milk saucepan - the air fryer and hot grill just takes space!

List of essential items with no Kettle on?
Thanks for watching. That’s part 2 😆
@@CaravanVlogger I’m here every week. Your blog eases the caravan withdrawals
Insurance, don't forget insurance. You never know what can happen. 😉
Thanks for watching. Let me see…insurance…insurance.. yep that’s in part 12 😅😀
I don't believe it ...... Mr Vlogger advisers Beginners to get a Noseweight gauge and considers it a ...MUST HAVE ........Wonders will never cease

A step would be useful to gain access to said Caravan 😂
