    1. Your videos are outstanding, thank you so much! I've watched and liked nearly all of them but this one is probably the coolest.
    2. The sound of electric machines inside the locomotive, the location of camera, switching of every handle, little dust on front windows... You just capture the atmosphere the best way it can be ever done.
    3. Love Skoda locomotives because of their sound and the controller handle.
    4. Bulgarian Skodas are smaller than ones we've got in Kyiv (52E2 and 52E3) but as bulgarian trains are 3-4 times shorter, the dynamics of speeding up and braking looks relatively TERRIFIC! And 4 pairs of wheels instead of 6 make it possible to accelerate decently right from the curves behind the station, love bulgarian style of driving!

      +TheRunawayPepper Škoda is not Bulgarian, it's from Czech republic (or back then when this lady was made - Czechoslovakia)

      "Bulgarian Skodas are smaller than ones we've got in Kyiv (52E2 and 52E3)" - just because it's a one section of ЧС8. BDŽ-44/45 and ČD-130 freight-modified and cheapened chassis from mid-1970s became a base for ЧС8 and ЧС7 series for Soviet railways. European freight trains have 1000 up to 3000 ton weight and buffers, so they have high average speed, close to the average speed of Soviet Union passenger trains.

    Hello TC rail. Can you add annotations (or make a new video) to what the different cab controls actually do. Like how does it differ between up and down on the "wheel" and so on.

      This locomotives have 32 voltage positions. When he push controller in
      left, he shift to higher positions and high speed of course.

    So the horn is in the centre of the throttle is is basically a 2 stage button? Pushed down halfway, low note, pushed down all the way, high note?

    4:47 как стана задействането на автоматичната спирачка при положение че реостатната работи? Затварящият вентил функционира ли въобще?!?!

    Why are train motors DC and not AC driven from variable frequency inverters like those in electric cars?

      Because 40 yeas ago, when this locomotive is built, there were no variable frequensy inverters.

      Plecháč bulharskích drah řady 44 s EDB a podvozky druhé generace.

      Ne. Řáda BDŽ-44/45 vybavená podvozkami II.generace (viz stroje řady 350), bez mezipodvozkové spojky, s 3-bodovým závěšením TM v rámu podvozku a klasické konstrukce lok. brzdy s oboustránným odbrzděním. Ale typ trakčních motorů aj. elektrického zařízení je podobný "laminatkám" řady 240: VN odbočková regulace výkonu, transformátor s regulací na primární straně, tyristorové řízení pomocných pohonů (tzv. ReCKDyn), stupňové ovládaní elektrodinamickou brzdou, možnost mnohočlenného řízení 2 lokomotiv.
      Na rozdíl od "plecháčů" (nebo BDŽ-43) s neprůchozí strojovnou, BDŽ-44/45 májí průchozí uličku a VN kobku s brankami na obou koncích druhé neprůchozí uličky (podobné ЧС4 nebo ЧС8 pro Sovětský sváz). Schéma chlázení BDŽ-44/45 líši od "laminatek" - a konkrétně: mezi podvozkámi je závěšen ventilátor Nr.3, který slouží pro ofukováni obou chladičů trafooleju, obou trakčních usměrňováču 020 a 022, obou vyhlažovacích tlumivek - odběr vzduchu ventilátorem Nr.3 je přimo s ulicy !!! Takže hlavní rám BDŽ-43 (a rovněž BDŽ-44/45) s výroby je hotový pro montáž automatického špřáhla SA-3.

      Kamen Kostadinov Ъъ спира реостатно, вижда се към края на клипа. Малката ръчка вдясно от контролера е за реостата.

    И аз се чудя защо се палят локомотивите .Реостата е забранен със заповед от 1993г.Интересно ако не иска да върне позиция как ще бягаш из машинното.Ама то както се казва парен каша духа.

      Моля без глупости! Реостатът не само не е забранен, а е задължителен за ползване по действащите правила. Смея да твърдя, че съм го ползвал по предназначение повече отколкото някои колеги са си подпирали кафето на него, така че добре ми е известно колко се тича, къде се тича, какво, как и защо се пали. Ползвах го за спускане и на тежки товарни влакове, когато работех в товарния график, вкарвал съм локомотиви и за случаен ремонт за неизправен реостат.

      вкарвал съм локомотиви и за случаен ремонт за неизправен реостат.Това кога и коя година е било те едвам вързват графика той машина без реостат не взимал.Зощо се криеш кажи си името стажа депото за да мога да ти пратя проверка пък на тях обяснявай как спираш.
