Had you heard about a drop off birthday party and what are your thought?

Really interesting topic to bring up! I might be a bit of a 'helicopter mommy' but....I can't imagine dropping off a small child and leaving. You brought up so many good concerns 1)emergencies or embarrassing/difficult situations 2) child's behavior....but it's very interesting to see people's reasons for not staying at the party or not even wanting other parents to stay. My oldest is about to turn 5...so it's very interesting to listen to all these different ideas about how to do birthday parties.

The older they get the more acceptable this is, but I'd still be nervous to just drop my kids off and leave. I'm so paranoid. 😅

This happened at a party we were invited to about 2 years ago, it was at a very busy bounce house place and the mom of a kiddo just dropped off the kid and left, didn’t say anything to the bday kid parents. I’m also Mexican, and drop off parties were a big no no for us growing up 😂 I think it’s just personal preference, but these are a no for my kids as well, I want to make sure my kiddos are safe and having fun, especially at a public place. Even if I’m just sitting at the corner reading or on my phone. My kids also don’t like having bday parties, they like doing an activity and having one or two friends join them, it’s normally a movie, so we have more relaxed bday celebrations for them.

I think under grade 1 I would attend a party with my kids .. I like to socialize, meet other parents and also be present if my child needs anything. As they get older party depending I drop them off with a phone number in the case that an emergency happens.
