I personally prefer Pattaya because of the beach, cheaper prices, slightly less traffic, etc. However, most of my friends in Thailand prefer Bangkok for the big city atmosphere where almost everything is available 24 hours a day. While I prefer Pattaya overall, almost every trip I have taken to Thailand I have gone to both places and I recommend all travelers to try both and decide for themselves what their preferences are.
Bangkok, hands down! One of the most amazing cities in the world. The contrast of things, the craziness, the possibilities are just endless. It feels like a mega future city in one corner and a small village in another.
I love Bangkok, it’ll always be my home base because the beaches and beautiful sunsets are never far. You get to Jomtien/Pattaya in 2 hours, Hua Hin in 4 hours by car and Phuket is an 1.5 hour flight. It doesn’t even break the bank and you have a place to decompress. This makes weekend or even day trips so easy that it’s literally the best of both worlds. Are you learning Thai in the meantime?
So true about Pattaya and Thailand in general, everyone knows everyone!! Phuket, Pattaya, Bangkok, the girls especially know each other, so when it comes to dating things can get so messy 😂 great vid mate
I used to be in favour of Bangkok. All for the same reasons as you (living a normal life). On each visit to Pattaya, I tone down the partying. I could live there as the years and trips have gone by. Great videos, mate. You are one of the few TH-camrs I don't take a break from. Many I need time out from, lol. Your content keeps you constantly engaged and in my daily viewing (except when in Thailand, which is usually every 4-5weeks). You have a great outlook on life. Keep up the good work.🤘
I moved from BKK to Pattaya because of the VIBE. Relaxed, beach streetfood at the sunset beach, sea activity , and with all modern, luxurious things BKK has. (But I couldn’t buy the condo in Jomtian, it was sold out during covid! I found the more quiet yet green mountain area in Sriracha So here I am. A bit far from the Pattaya I love but it’s ok😇.)
Holidaying somewhere & living somewhere are 2 different beasts for sure. Holidaying I like to be close to the hustle & bustle. Living in a place, I just need to be close enough to everything as to not need a cut lunch to get to the fun. 😊 Good vid Adam. 👍
love the editing at the start Keis, Bangkok is such a busy place and great for someone who can handle the big cities. I don't live here but could see myself doing that in the future. I did spend 2 months here on my last visit. I also love Phuket for the same reason you love Pattaya. I have friends there and love the beach and the vibe to go with it I would live in Bangkok for the simple reason that there is more to do and not just the same thing day in and day out. Phuket is more of a party place and the cost of living is insane form food being 3 times as much at times and people know who you are. Sorry I haven't been to Pattaya yet but will do so so just to check it out. But for me its Bangkok the madness here is amazing and i love it. Great video mate stay safe
I somewhat agree with you. Bangkok offers everything you need in a big city. Shopping, bars, endless night markets, fine dining and on and on. But because it is a big city it is harder to do certain activities and that's where Pattaya comes in. Pattaya is a smaller city so it's easier to get outside the city and find cheaper golf courses. You can also find more extreme sport activities. They have scuba diving, sea doing, mountain biking, dune buggy and I'm sure dirt bike rentals too which I know you would be interested in ;) possible video idea? Haha I would personally live in Bangkok like you do and visit Pattaya on weekends or holidays. I just love the madness that is bangkok lol
Each to their own mate, I personally Love living in Pattaya. I actually hate Bangerz, it's smelly busy and expensive and the traffic is a nightmare. Born UK but moved to Sydney in 88 so sick of the city life. Pattaya is AWESOME you just have to discipline yourself or it can swallow you up lol
I live in Phrom Phong, but originally considered living in Jomtien to be by the beach. Ultimately, I decided Pattaya is great for weekend trips and a break from the city, but the lifestyle comes with a risk of it consuming you. Who knows, when my lease is up in a year I might move to Jomtien of Pratumnak or maybe somewhere different altogether. You're definitely right about hotels getting expensive. Also hard to get hotels last minute. Can't book a hotel on the bus anymore.
When you decide to look for a place in the Pattaya area definitely make a video on it because I hope to be coming in The first part of the year to stay for a extended time
Really good to hear your insights brother. Here in Thailand myself right now. I am moving from Seattle, Washington. Have been comparing both places myself but leaning towards Bangkok for many of the reasons you mentioned. 🤛
I enjoyed this. I am looking at Pattaya to first visit and maybe move to on a five year visa. I am originally from darwin Australia so a small place and find big cities a bit much though I lived in Sydney for a while. I think Pattaya could be enough for me but I understand your comment about there not being much to do that is possible. I got that problem in Australia and figured it would probably go with me wherever I went so I am not to concerned about it. Thanks for good videos Keisone I watch fairly often

I love Thailand 🇹🇭 Being an Older bloke 😅 I do like the vibes of Jomtien beach 🏝 and it’s much cleaner than Pattaya! But on Holiday who cares 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hey mate!
I got robbed in Pattaya
What happened? Story for my book?
@@keisone l have lived in pattaya 15 years never been robbed and been out all over on side soi ect at all times of day and night
It's not pronounced Pattia
yeah many youtubers pronounce it pat - tea - ya which is wrong.. Then everyone else watching gets confused and thinks it's right Pat-Tay-Yaaaaa
I prefer pattaya more Ladyboys 💅💋
Bangkok is totally different from pattaya, phuket vs pattaya would be a better comparison..
I will be going to Phuket soon 😊
Wrong.
Total opposite bro. Bangkok is super boring after 2 days. Nothing to do but stupid shopping centres. Pattaya every day for sure
Parks, temples, boat rides on the river, nice walks, night markets, cafes, skate parks, international restaurants, 10 Million malls lol.. sure Pattaya has most of these things too, but I wouldn’t say Bangkok is boring, for me anyway
Pattaya all way
Yessir!
Bangkok pls normal people 555
