The whale shark is a cultural symbol for Qatar. Qatar is home to one of the largest whale shark aggregations in the ocean. What the boy picked up was a pearl which the boy picked up and put into the sea, used to be their main source of economy before they found the oil.

The Arabian gulf is known with the pearls and a this type of whales. The melody that fahad sang is a melody of the sailors who used to sail into the arabian gulf for months to look for the pearls.

We have a lot of whale sharks here in Qatar and they represents us because they look intimidating but in reality they are friendly creatures.

Plus the singing, in the beginning, (Hala Hoo Hala) is what the men used to sing as they would row the boats to get pearls because that's how Qatar used to earn money before they found petrol.

Bro, you should sometimes go to Qatar. They have the most incredible sky scrappers in the world. You can see so many weird, unique and tall buildings that you have never seen in other countries. Too many and you could think you live on another planet. Crazy. Sometimes I even thought these people are so crazy about the building and monument. Maybe they just love buildings and architecture. Maybe they feel it is like a reflection of power like in the old times when they build the Pyramid, Giza, and many great monuments and statues.
