Use the sound personalisation feature, and bring the blue dot near the bottom right. You will get significant higher volume, and it will sound more detailed and keeping the bass gets sharper as well. The wind noise reduction max feature is also super amazing, it reduces the anc by a little, but you wont hear any wind at all. Also for gaming the latency is super low which is amazing.
I mean apple bought out beats to take their engineers and stuff to make airpods. They literally don't care about beats anymore. I didn't like old beats either, I know you can hear the difference between modern good headphones for sure, but comparing beats by dr dre back then and other monster headphones I prefered others still. Like the inspiration was better sound less mudied though less comfortable too lol ):
