@@aheim6646 He doesn't have the best voice of course but that's not mean that he has a bad voice actually. His voice is very good in his style and he doesn't sound detuned at all.

I think it is that in the live performances, with a full band, he tends to "shout" through the chorus to kept up with the volume of the band. That is a problem for him because it at the top of his register (without breaking into falsetto) so as a result, he loses all control of the pitch. Here he is not trying to be as loud as the band, but I think they (smartly) tuned the song down a key or two to fit is natural singing range better. While not without some flaws this is a nicer vocal performance.
I think its either a semitone down so he can hit the high notes.
Or even maybe a full step.
We all have bad days eh this was a great performance it just didn't sit right in the ear because it was not standard whatever tuning they used in the studio.

It is almost always the losers talking s@#t. People with success understand the difficulties that come with it and the hard work. They don't expect perfection, but just that they will be a little better everyday. I Thought the performance was nice. Auto tune does not take guts or hard work. Well done guys.

Michael Xenos Regardless of autotune, studio versio is always better as its rehearsed over and over, and the best take is used.
The original doesn't have autotune, it's do it with multiple voices for support the principal voice and he do it with falsete.
Obviously have a compressor, reverb and a little bit tuned buts it's different of the autotune.
Sorry but vocals need work - sucks because the recorded version is so great. #autotune

This wasn’t very good, but it’s the best live performance of this song I’ve seen from him, which goes to show how auto tune can make nearly anyone a star.
His original is fully sang in a low falsetto, it's not purely autotune, you can't just casually do that without warming up, and this is a casual session. Also, he doesn't want to mumble on camera, obviously, so he uses his chestvoice.
Oof. I appreciate the intent here, but there's a lot to be said for good production.
