This is the big shopping place in my county, aside from Walmart. I'm there about four times a year to buy something at Kohl's. During the 90s it was bustling. But low traffic is definitely a problem after Sears, Penney's and Elder Beerman closed. What happened? Well, there just aren't enough people in this county to support such a big mall, with several stores selling the same kind of merchandise and competing with each other. It should not have been built so big in the first place.
I just found out, and am really happy that this TH-cam channel exists. I want to comment Even though this mall is almost dead. But the condition of this mall is very clean and tidy. Unlike malls in Asia which have gone bankrupt, they look shabby and haunted🙏🏻
Thank you so much! I appreciate that, yes this particular mall is very clean, I love that about it too! And that’s so cool to have a viewer in Asia! Thank you for watching! Hope to see you on future uploads!❤️
Excellent video as always John! I also just visited this mall recently, and I can definitely say compared to 3 years ago, this place is made a small resurgence, but it definitely is still struggling and you can tell.
@@ERA_Productions Thank you Andrew!!!! I love this mall, I went here a few years back also and got kicked out for filming, this time it was smooth sailing! Thanks for always watching my stuff man you’re a G!💯🔥
@@neohistoryfan1014 me too, tho it’s a dead mall, it’s still a mix with the anchors that do well, so hopefully it will be around a little longer! Thank you for watching!
@@bluewater4 I ask this all the time! One of my local childhood malls, the Shenango Valley Mall is being torn down to build a strip plaza:( Thank you for watching!!!
Tuscarawas county has been economically stagnant for decades - mainly due to factories around here closing. I guess the rent is pretty high at the mall, and cheaper retail spaces in other locations around town.
This is my favorite mall when I was in 8th grade
Ashley Furniture is in where JCP was. You even filmed it. So only one anchor is vacant.

Explain to me why stores will build ugly strip malls and standalone stores when they could fill a mall vacancy.

The owner of the mall wants to save money on heating, air conditioning, and floor maintenance.

I would say at least it is doing better than Brookfield Square.
