Lot of margin to progress ;) Slow moving, no touch, not clutch at all. Yet monstrous serve and forehand when he don't try esoteric shots. He'll have to develop a sense of angles, a decent slice and return, better positioning and point construction, mental fortitude and... a touch, at least a bit ;) And to let balls going out touch the ground instead of smashing them ;)
@@mmm6325 ahahah you're right about coach coaching. The guy is already in the top 100, that is obviously a great achievement already :) I was trying to pin point his current weaknesses. Considering these flaws, i believe he can be a tough opponent for the years to come especially when he'll improve and gain more experience on the tour. People in France were so hyped by Fils they forgot a breakthru is not a career.
We finally got Daniel-san vs Daniel-san! We already got Novak vs Djokovic, now we need Nadal vs Nagal (which we were two matches short from getting recently)
6:50 makes me wonder, in case Sun hits the ball and it bounced back to his side, is he allowed to interfere with Perricard's shot, as long as it's on Sun's side? Not sure this was the case here, but just made me wonder about the rules.
I saw that too (well as much as I could see). But they both looked at the chair umpire to see if a call was going to be made. That was a little interesting!
If Perricard had missed the point I think there could’ve been a case for interference. Hard to tell. But the answer to your question is no, Sun can’t interfere even if the ball comes back over to his side. If perricard (who is huge) can reach and hit the ball without touching the net then Sun has to give him the space to do it.
I was wondering what would have happened if they touched racquets? I assume it would be Mpetshi Perricard's point since it would have been interference from Sun
Sun was NOT having it, never seen someone more annoyed that he had to play that beast 😂 Mpetshi blew him off the court, if he was more consistent he'd be unstoppable.
Don't the worry, the Party will provide. Just plain and simple money washing, like the WTA finals in Saudi Arabia. The tour goes where there are political interests to promote sports instead of human rights. Let's hope Peng Shuai is still alive and safe, somewhere...
I'm just knowing of him from last year and I think it was at Antwerp where he played Bublik. He came through qualies and I was like, "Who is this?" Lol. I've been following his progress since then. I think he's not as comfortable on hard courts as seen in the US hard court swing but with his big game, he will get there! He's fun to watch!
He won the ATP 250 clay court tournament in Lyon, he was also doing well in Wimbledon. But that's about it. His game is interesting, but very shaky, he doesn't have solid groundstrokes and defence that are needed for modern tennis. Even his serve is very erratic, too. Many people were predicting rapid rise for him recently ("with his serve, it's impossible for him not to get to the top 10"), but I think it's very naive.
True. I try to like him, but he's so busy trying to pose and pump himself up, he feels like a fraud. But Daniel is a baller and just straight up bounced him.
So happy for Taro Daniel, hopefully he can get some form at this tournament because he needs it!
he's a journeyman. Glad he got a W
Love those classic Walton and Klein matches
If you could tell them apart in the video.😂

What power from Lucas Klein!!

I would have found the Walton v Klein match great…if only I could see the damn ball 😂
If only I could tell them apart. 😂

True..he threw a couple of scary shots..raw dismantling power ..but 10 double fault..that s unacceptable at this level.
pretty close scoreline considering sun is nit even top 300 in singles
i thought that my eyes have a problem
Sun's a tool for that sitter racquet touch thing at the net. Good way to get smoked on the next one for the lack of respect.
Sun played well but lost at the end.
Who put these tournaments there? Literally empty stands and very few spectators. How do they make money?😮
Unhinged Chinese government who have more money than sense are funding thus.
It's just first round, might get better later. And it's also for the local players to get points and experience.

Wow I can't believe how rude the crowd was to Mpetshi Perricard. Not ONE clap when he made amazing shots. I've never seen such a thing.
Chinese audience rooting for Chinese guy in China. In a culture that homogenous no one would dare clap for the opponent even if they wanted to 😂
Theres no crowd 😅

where was perricard during most of the year? guys a baller
