"Karajan and Bruckner" is the only immense secret garden where all great souls want to take shelter after a long day of this incredibly useless human existence we are living. This is REAL, GREAT, IMMENSE MUSIC.

The uniqueness of Bruckner was never achieved in the history of music. His wonderful thoughts gave him and his music immortality.

at 10'10'' God shows His presence. Only immensely stupid people could think somebody is going to give a better rendition. Bruckner and Karajan, the last Karajan, were and will always be one of the unreachable tops of Music of the 20th Century. And beyond.

It's true. Schumann's 4th symphony, in particular Sawallish recording is a MASTERPIECE, underappreciated. Mahler didn't need to edit it either.

@@neonRTowner Please, consider among these ones Brahms...the 4 th Symphony is a masterpiece, a pinnacle of "sublime"...and cello and piano sonatas too!

There are a lot of religious moments in Bruckner, esp 7, 8, and 9. I find Furtwangler and Karajan to be the most compelling. I would think this would fall into Petrenko's sweet spot.

I love Bruckner , have since first heard his unfinished 9th when I was 13 ----all his symphonies ( and all versions thereof ) astounding . Don't forget his Adagio For Strings ---- as good as barber and mahler ) Love ya Anton ........... von Karajan is always good , tho I prefer Nezet-Seguin .............

Herbert even thru all the lies and propaganda thats plagued this beautiful nation, he still never once renounced his beliefs. Mother Europa calls us all and in her call the response is from collectively millions of us who share a heretige and Nietzschian spirt. We will not be obliviated by these parasites whos names never represent the nation's they subert. Gott mitt uns

Well, I'm an American and also of some German descent that would like to move to Germany soon. Ich liebe Deutschland. This piece of music is profound to me and I found it recently; the Adagio especially. It may really have one of the great climaxes in symphonic history. Verherrend. Übersinnlich. Ganz bewegend. The opening is beautiful as well. I do really enjoy Bruckner now and he has some phenomenal melodic ideas. Austria had amazing composers and conductors. I like Karajan's and Jochum's interpretations. Nietzsche hatte einmal gesagt "Manche trüben das Wasser, damit es tief erscheint." Einigkeit, Recht und Freiheit, für's deutsche Vaterland.
