Sister I'm proud of you. At the end of the day it is you fighting for another chance to survive and it was for your kids. I experienced the same in terms of health. I woke up telling myself I had to fight this.
Happy to hear that you’re cancer free. I am so glad that you did not stay with your ex husband. Him and his family don’t deserve to get a second chance from you because they didn’t help you through your battle. I totally agree with you on why is it that if the husband is sick, his family want the wife to stay with him and take care of him but if the wife was to be sick then his family want him to go marry another wife.
Sadly… that’s our retarded and unfair Hmong cultural of how women are treated.
This is why when I hear about a wife leaving a sick husband it’s ok to support her leaving him because if it was the guy this is how he would be (just like this couple).

I was thinking the same thing, and especially when he was making a threat of killing. Killing and hurting someone or making any threats are biggest red flags to end a relationship and not marrying that person.
True. He was a psycho from the beginning. She's pretty stupid to marry him despite all the red flags- especially his violent personality. Yet even in the best of relationship, betrayal can still happen. Sad that in reality we can't trust anybody entirely but ourself.
