- Today’s video is the first of a series introducing the factions, units and tactics players will be able to use in Iron Harvest 1920 +
Iron Harvest 1920+ tells and epic, overarching story following three factions and their protagonists. Each faction offers different tactical opportunities. in the intense tactical battles. This not only allows an intense story telling spanning over 20 missions in three campaigns but also guarantees deep tactical multiplayer experiences in which strategy beats clicks per second at any time. Additional Skirmish and Challenge Maps allow to challenge the AI alone or in co-op with a friend.
After the great war and on the brink of revolution, the Rusviet nation is struggling to keep a constant flow of resources up and running. Ressources they desperately need to fuel their huge, expensive war machines. Today’s video introduces the Rusviet Mechs and gives a first idea on how they are used best on the battlefields of Iron Harvest 1920+
Inspired by post WWI-history Iron Harvest tells the story of an Rusviet Empire facing internal struggles while trying to maintain a dominant position on the battlefields. Close combat with heavy mechs or slow but highly devastating artillery are to be balanced when players lead the Rusviet soldiers to the front.

Smells like every "stealth" mission in C&C games. Control one character or squad and pick off enemies one by one. RTS suddenly becomes MGS because every game needs a stealth segment.

I hope this was a pre-beta video. The character modelling made this game look more like TBS than RTS. If one of the shock troopers landed behind me, I'd run like hell instead of playing with the cannon.

Soviet themed mechs (sickle is obvious, but the anvil is also on the nose because there is a Russian saying - "between a hammer and an anvil" and the model is also a clear nod to the netopyr tank) in Tzardom Russia, Rasputin in the cutscene, this is a great setup for a 1930 sequel game.

Bruh where is the "Tsar Tank"
The Rusviet faction is my favorite of them all. The Kolokol is a good starter mechs for both infantry and mechs, even Aerial units. The Serp is the strongest melee mech and can destroy anything close to it. The Groza squads can help to either prevent or begin captures and can turn the tide of a battle. The Nakovalnya can turn anything in its range into a wasteland. Finally, the Gulyay-Gorod is a mobile fortress that can just wreck anything it finds.

ok so about the Nakovalnya's two wheels... those two wheels might have been based off the that one Russian tank that was 100% useless but had MASSIVE wheels. good one you guys for looking for old unused designs and reusing them for big boi tanks.
Not sure if i can take all the fantasy stuff. I mean stable tanks with tracks to drive around fast isn't that the better option? Otherwise wars would be fought with walking machines instead of wobbally tripods that fall over or get stuck in the mud.
They should remake the BoardGame "Scythe" into a more warfare focused gameplay similar to this.
Scythe and iron harvest take place in the same world called 1920+ there both based on the same paintings.

It’s the 20’s and the idea comes from poland. So, well...we can hope.
Currently there are 3. However, the paintings these game and world building are based from present 7 factions with the most technologically advanced faction The Factory (Illuminati or Free Masons) being implied to be supplying all the other faction with war weaponry and the true instigator of conflict.

this is my biggest complaint about the lore- the commies still maintain the tsar despite the fact communists would NEVER allow a monarchy, they'd just murder said monarch and his family. other than that the lore seems pretty good.
the ruskies as of now are still not communist, there is a communist revolutiony looming in the horizon but it's still tsarist russia. They just have red imagery
Rusviet is a constitutional monarchy with a provisional military-civil government with the Soviets(Workers councils) en mass formed and ruled on small levels.
Basically 1/3 Empire,1/3 Republic and 1/3 of Soviet Union.

Sadly the artist who made the 1920+ universe does not have a U.S analog yet. But I think the UK in the setting has a mech that looks like a walking bagpipe where the pipes are exhaust or cannons.
In the scyth board game set in the same universe there are models for Japanese, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Nordic analogs. So they might show up in iron harvest as DLCs

@@darykeng I think the scythe is meant for enemy mech hunting. And the Russian mechs are all slow I think
darykeng mobility creates possibility for your victory, but invincibility excludes possibility for your defeat.
