- In this episode we sip and review Rabbit Hole Raceking Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. I get to take a chance on a bottle that is a bit out of my price range, by way of Erik Anderson who lent me the bottle for science. Does this bottle run rings around other Rabbit Hole releases? Should you ask the liquor store guy to bring down this one from behind the counter? Watch and find out for yourself.
Raceking Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 54.9% ABV (109.8 proof), and no age statement.

All the camera angles! Loving the dedicated space and set up! Whiskey sounds delightful as well. I've not had anything from this distillery before. The best cork I've ever had was from castle and key, but the whiskey unfortunately was subpar.

A cask strength Rabbit Hole is one Jean and I would love to see become an addition to its core line. They have a really solid bourbon and a really nice rye. We'd love to see them make some additions. They haven't added anything to their core line in years. This is a really nice set and has great audio too. This should be great for the podcast. Cheers to ya!

I hate to "well actually", but "chocolate" malt refers to how far they toasted the malt to stop the germination. Chocolate malt is typically the darkest or longest toasted malt.
I’m not sure this is a well actually moment, since it known for it’s bitter, rich coffee and chocolate flavor profile

7:16 I don't believe I've ever heard anything bad about Rabbit Hole, and this stuff sounds right good.
Totally unrelated to the subject of this video, I have a question about Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon. The first three bottles I had were *superb.* But the last three I've bought haven't been up to that standard. The one I have now is better than the preceding two, but it's still not as good as the first three. I've speculated that demand has grown so much that Balcones has had to dump younger barrels, but that's just a guess. Have you encountered the same phenomenon, and do you know what's going on down in Waco?
You're the one I think of when I wonder about the matter, because you're the only one I know who's a big fan of Balcones Distilling. 🥃
Don’t get too used to the beard 😂 I think this is the longest it’s ever been and a rare sight overall. I don’t know, the wife seems to love it so you know how that’s gonna go.
Folks have been saying the same about the set and that it doesn’t need much so hey I like simple so we’ll keep it that way. As far as Balcones, you’re probably onto something but let me dig around. I have a credible source…
I don’t know if you heard already but it may not matter since they have decided to stop making it altogether and will put out the last of their stock within the single barrel program. This makes my heart hurt if you ask me. Not happy at all, but they make a lot of great single malt and rye that I’m gonna be just fine in the end.

@@WHISKEYONE 😭 I am *not* happy to hear that. The Pot Still Bourbon was what made me a Balcones fan in the first place, and it's the only one that I can always afford on my limited budget. I hope they don't eliminate the corn whisky too, 'cause the Baby Blue is as flavorful as a lot of bourbon, and the True Blue is fit for the angels to drink.
I like the Lineage single malt, but not as much as the bourbon and corn whisky, and it's the only one of their barley whiskies I can afford.
