AMC said - I will ignore the entire book series that has influenced so many other their works and make incoherent trash.

Yep..... All I got from this whole thing was once again we're not really going to follow the book. And we're so proud of ourselves. Look how smart are writers are there so much smarter than Anne Rice.

I’m genuinely very curious about this season has in store. Unlike some people in the comments section. I’m actually willing to give them a second chance. Even though I don’t think season 1 was terrible except that the ending felt rushed but otherwise I thought that it was ok

If you wanted to write an original, then you should have done THAT. Such a missed opportunity to adapt Anne’ actual story, I was very dissapointed.

How can Interview With The Vampire be so good and this look so lame. interview turned out to be a fun alternate take on the story, THIS DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THE BOOK OR FEEL LIKE THE BOOK.

You do realize you are only seeing very small clips from the new season probably not even in order done purposely to throw us off .....So my advice is to maybe watch Season 1 before Season 2 starts and then watch it as the New Episodes are released weekly on AMC and then after you've actually seen it then make your judgement because I watched all of Season 1 and it was amazing it sucked having to wait this long for Season 2..... Sorry not being rude I was just sharing my opinion😂

@@teresabaker4050 I did watch season one, multiple times. Except for a few moments, I thought the show was mid at best. At worst it felt like a complete insult to what Rice wrote.
I don't need the series to be a one-to-one of the novels. But I want the basic story and tone to be the same. With how season one went, it felt like they only read the cliff notes of the first book.
You're fine. I'm glad there are people who enjoy the show. Can I ask you, what you liked about season one? I mostly see people expressing negative feelings about it.

I feel like, because people compare it to IWTV, Mayfair gets such a bad rep....I don't think it's that Mayfair was actually bad, I think it was good-it's just that IWTV is even more than just a good show, because IWTV is actually a _great_ show several cuts above just good, so that makes Mayfair seem worse than it is(and then on top of that you throw in the fact that Mayfair [or so I've heard ]also made even more significant alterations and deviations from its original book source materials for less narratively obvious reasons than IWTV did, so you get many people that also don't differentiate between a bad show versus a poor or disloyal adaptation, too). But maybe that's just me. 🤷 😊

@@hanyoplays6141 I've read several of the Vampire Chronicles' books, but I never got around to reading any of the Mayfair books(yet) myself, so whether or not the Mayfair tv series was anything like the Mayfair books or not really just didn't even factor in to whether I liked the (AMC)Mayfair series at all or not. I think what I personally liked best about the Mayfair tv series was Ciprien, and/or Lasher. But I also really liked Rowan and Rowan's powers and her search for the answers that had been withheld from her regarding who her birth family was and why she'd been kept separate from them and where her powers come from or not and her complex/complicated relationship with Lasher, and the twists and turns as various things were slowly revealed or various layers peeled back about everybody's various goals/agendas and the tangled metaphorical-webs that people can weave sometimes and the lengths they're willing to go to achieve them and/or to keep their secrets and such, and the way thay various characters' goals/agendas intersected and interwove or clashed or contrasted or played off each other. It's also a bit of a novelty, for me, sort of getting to see Rowan's actress grow up as I myself have grown up from the Percy Jackson movies to now(and I think she also acts well). And it was interesting finally watching something of Jack Huston's work specifically, after having believed for a time that he would be in that new 'The Crow' movie before that stage in production unfortunately didn't end up panning out after all and the whole script was rewritten and the lead role recast yet again and all, I think if that particular iteration of 'The Crow' had actually moved forward successfully Huston likely would've handled the role wonderfully because I thought his work in Mayfair was really great.

@@hanyoplays6141 I haven't read the Mayfair books, so how same or different the Mayfair tv series was or not didn't factor in to whether I liked it or not. (Although I have read and loved several of the Vampire Chronicles' books.)
I liked Ciprien, and Lasher, and Rowan-I liked discovering their powers and exploring their past/histories and all, and I liked seeing their various goals/etcetera intersect and such.
And I have personal reasons for taking particular interest in the acting works of both Rowan's actress and Lasher's actor, also, so... I just liked getting to see those two on screen, generally, too. 😂 😊💖

I am not seeing Anne Rice's novel lol but I'd still watch it... I guess they scrapped the Rowan/Cip (thank god) romance angle and introduced Larkin. So they are going with THE ORIGINAL Rowan/Micheal/Aaron trio but with Larkin and Ciprian. Still hate they dropped Michael Curry and Aaron Lightner. And Moira Mayfair is Mona Mayfair. I've never read the Mayfair books(so far, but I do plan to read them eventually; I've always been slightly more of a werewolves and vampires than witches kinda girlie, personally)-and while I didn't think the Mayfair tv series was quite as phenomenal as the IWTV tv series is, I still liked (AMC's)Mayfair and thought it was pretty good anyway, and I really like the (AMC)Mayfair cast!!.
I am wondering why they are introducing yet another love interest for Rowan, though....what was the point of making Cip[ from what I have heard secondhand] basically a composite of the two male characters from the Mayfair books, if they were just going to go ahead and introduce another character in the mix later on anyway? Is this them basically just trying to retroactively walk the decision to take creative liberties there and cave to pressure from book fans?😅 (Or is this something they were always planning on doing, all along? 🤔) I'm genuinely curious. 😊
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next in the upcoming season! ((But I really liked Cip, and Rowan/Cip as a couple, so..I'm not sure how I feel about another love-interest suddenly coming in, unless they're just going full on open and/or poly relationship, or they do a really really good job at convincing me that Rowan/Cip shouldn't actually be together after all. 😅 Lol))

Idk, i just loved the books so much it is frustrating to see that woman, Esta, have the power to make this show and effed off these books cuz she thinks she knows better. Smdh. I love Interview with the Vampire, but I detest what AMC did with the Mayfair Witches. Although IWTV deviated from the original story, the essence of the characters were captured perfectly, especially Lestat. MW just has a couple of characters' names thrown in here and there, but the essence of the books are completely lost. The way they made Rowan so much weaker & pathetic is infuriating. Where is Michael Curry? Aaron Lightner? Ugh.

I didn't read the books but the pacing of the show lost me szn one. Hands up if you'd be willing for them to cancel this series in place of getting our Lestat IWAV szn like yesterday! Mayfair can cross over periodically but just give the people what they want 😭😭

I didn't think there was anything wrong with the pacing of Mayfair S1; although, it didn't seem quite as gripping or compelling or subtle or nuanced overall as the IWTV tv series is. What was it about the Mayfair tv series' pacing exactly that lost you?
