You know, that when you hear this music, you're about to embark on a journey. A journey to a land of magic and monsters. A land with the brightest light, as well as the deepest darkness. A journey that will remain a part of you, long after you've returned to your normal life. When you hear this, it's possible to believe, that, just maybe, you too, could be as great a hero as the ones you guide.
Can I just say that Nobuo Uematsu is one of the best composers *_in history?_* He's an absolute musical genius, right up there with the gods among men, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and Vivaldi. And he built his career writing music *_for video games._* Suck on it, Roger Ebert. "It's impossible for video games to be art" my ass.
I like it very much but I consider the simplicity of the FF VII prelude more of a genius stroke. It was made with limitations while this has a million-dollar orchestra playing behind it. FF VII was in a strange place between Snes FFVI and FF VIII that had much more "real" music. One of the most beautiful things I have heard is Aeriths theme on a music box. Sometimes less is more but hey this music is also very very good.
That moment when you listen Prelude and all the memories of your first Final Fantasy that you played come back to you, even if that Final Fantasy was not the 7.
FFXV was the first one i played, somehow hearing this prelude automatically made me know this was going to be one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life. FFXV, even though some people thought the story was meh, introduced me to a series that even at its worst, provided some of the best storytelling in video games. Is there any other game that could make somone nostalgiac for a game that came out 4 months before they were born?? thats what listening to this before picking New Game did. incredible.
xiv still has my favorite prelude, but i suppose most peoples favorites is their first (specifically prelude - discoveries, it is so LONG and has so many different parts to it)
I remember when this game was free on PS Plus I’m not a fan of JRPGs but I wanted to give this game a shot. I played the first chapter and I was HOOKED! Like, really Hooked! Everything about this game was amazing! The music, the characters, the villains and even the quests! The story behind it was so amazing! This game, alongside Red Dead Redemption 2 and Modern Warfare 2, is one of my favorite games of all time! Maybe this game might get me into JRPGs. Who knows. 10/10!
I played this game so much when I was younger, a time came in my life when I was separated from my wife for a year, beyond circumstances we couldn't control. But when we were united... This song played in my head. And I cried. Masterpiece.
I wish there was a time I played the original first back when I was 16 5 or 6 years ago and had the original ps1 and to know I won’t forget a memory like that but at first I did play the remake demo and just love hearing this prelude to know it was gonna be so epic and the only one that played it was me because I did find myself and hadn’t played a ps4 for years and know that I am happily to begin it last year this was the game I played and enjoyed so much playing the demo was first hard for me because it was only 40 or 45 minutes of the game to purchase it and it took me a long time to just play that minutes of it to buy the actual game and continue the journey and feel like nothing was holding me back except a friend who was this girl and made it worse…but soon after I fell deeply in love with this remake so much I even spent hours playing it and everything. This was the best time I ever enjoyed and then after I I so was obsessed with the original game when I first played it and like the original more better but the remake is well done! Kudos to that!
hey dude, I read you're coment on Briana's video and next video coming soon dont worry, also on the next video of the playthrough you are going to see Erica Lindbeck
You know this would make an epic alarm. Think about it... it would make your life seem like an adventure at the start of everyday! Just trying to make life seem more exciting than it is

This needs to be pinned! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
"brightest light, as well as the deepest darkness" this perfectly sums up the cross-dressing portion of the game hahahahaha
I like that this also reflects the whole "you are who you believe you are" theme of ff7
Thank you for writing this.
cringe - this just reads like a child with fantasies of being a good writer, the music speaks for itself, it does not need this text.
The Final Fantasy Prelude never ceases to give me goosebumps. Its arguably the most iconic theme in all of RPG gaming.

Nobuo’s music is a gift to us all. And don’t forget the artwork of Yoshitako Amano.
@@Mrjimmybuckets24 Amano's artwork is crap, IMO. Otherwise, yeah.
Yoko Shimomura too
This is a PRIME example of video game ART. The music, the story, the graphics...everything is just beautiful ❤️
Don’t forget Bear McCreary, mostly for God of War
This is a great rendition of a timeless song.

This song just evokes so much emotion - joy, excitement, sadness, nostalgia. Uematsu is a genius.

@Jc Ramos First heard it in FF1.

Something I hope they keep till the last FF Game is the Prelude and the Fanfare
Don't forget the Final Fantasy Theme too
@@callmesmile6434 if that is not in the ending credits of the last installment I am for real going to order a napalm strike on SE headquarter.
This one always gives me chills.
All versions of the Prelude give me chills and put a tear in my eyes for some reason
Damn! , I can't start to hear this song without 😢, such a great song! There is no enough words to describe this beautiful song.
This takes me back. I loves the original
The Final Fantasy Prelude was actually a last minute song in FFI that took Nobuo Uematsu ten minutes to make.
And look where it's gotten us to now.
I can't wait to hear this live this November at the Final Fantasy VII Remake concert ❤️
They have a live concert??
I remember when this game was free on PS Plus

10/10!
That’s awesome man!! I’d definitely recommend checking out the original ff7.
I’m not crying…you are!
I could listen to this for hours ♥️
best prelude imo.
After the long hours of downloading the game, as soon as I heard this, I got instantly excited.
Hard to say enough.
Yes, masterpiece.
No true man listens this without tears

Gave me chills when I first played it back in September
Such a simple melody can be so great
Such an astounding track....I'm definitely not crying right now...
never not crying to this
FF7R is the best example that videogames can be art..
I've never played final fantasy a day in my life and I'm in tears wtf man

Other companies need to take note this is how you remaster a game. Also anyone else listening to this whiles farming on other games?
hey dude, I read you're coment on Briana's video and next video coming soon dont worry, also on the next video of the playthrough you are going to see Erica Lindbeck

The song they play when you're accepted into Heaven
This version is better than what's in the final game
You know this would make an epic alarm. Think about it... it would make your life seem like an adventure at the start of everyday!
Just trying to make life seem more exciting than it is
Love it!!!
@Eduarda Oliveira Agreed lol

.
The original arrangement had percussion at rest for the entire duration; this version could be better if it did the same.
