    Ready to get out of the city and find a single-family home at a more affordable price point? Consider Skagit Valley! Today I am showing you my listing on 634 N Waugh Rd in the Hilltop neighborhood of Mt. Vernon. At $600,000 you can get a great single family home with plenty of room to grow, a big backyard, and great curb appeal! The Skagit Valley is about an hour away from Seattle with light traffic, but you can expect 90 minutes with medium to heavy traffic.

    Mount Vernon is not near Seattle. All of western WA is a spectacle and completely unaffordable now. You're spot-on about the tulips tho, they are beautiful and worth a (weekday) visit.

      Mount Vernon is an hour from Seattle, when it can take 30mins just to get from downtown Seattle to Green Lake I’d say an hour drive to Mount Vernon is near Seattle. Not close, not next door, but near....

      @@JohnPaul-ln5hq in good traffic it’s about an hour away. If you commute during the normal rush hour it can easily take twice that.

    I love Mount Vernon and often drive delivery routes there. It’s not really within commuting distance to Seattle though. If you work North of Everett or are working remotely most of the time and periodically have to drive in to work, it would be a good option. Also, it is definitely way less expensive than the Seattle area but still well above what most people would consider affordable. In Skagit county you would really have to be really out there, like past Concrete, before prices start dropping to something affordable for most people.

    If you're comparing this house to CA & NY, yes this house is affordable. A lot of people have trouble buying at 375k. Can you buy a house like this at 375k further out of Seattle and more rural in a safe neighborhood?

      We own a similar house 3 bed 2 bath 1800 square feet corner lot in Phx and our is worth 300k...but its desert, not quite as beautiful as this haha but ya I would say 600k is definitely not "affordable". There really arent many starter homes anymore. Companies have been buying them up and renting them out as Airbnbs. Taking away from the families who are actually looking to own

    • @SarahBethBeauty
      @SarahBethBeauty 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrsMuffin11 Most homes in the Seattle area that are “cheaper” are purchased, flipped, and resold for profit. But it’s all relative as far as what is affordable. Minimum wage in Phoenix is $12.50 whilst it’s $15 here. In 2019 $60,931 was the average median income in Phoenix but it was $97,185 in Seattle. Yes our homes are absolutely still too expensive though for the average millennial (that’s me). The husband and I will have to look far north, south, or out of state. But Seattle IS one of the most beautiful areas you can live in, great schools, relatively safe, plenty of jobs to be had, so it’ll be hard to leave :/
