    Fun fact: Beyoncé was initially cast to be the lead star for the remake of "A Star is Born," but due to delays in casting the male lead, she eventually dropped out because of scheduling conflicts. Barbra Streisand wanted Beyoncé and Will Smith to take the roles in the remake. Because she wanted to make it different again, with a different kind of music, really make it interesting again, like an actual reimagining of "A Star is Born." but as a movie director, she thought that the 2018 version was a "wrong idea" due to originality issues and said she was surprised to see how similar the 2018 version was to her own version.

    Barbra has the best female voice of this generation, no one can sing like Barbra! Actually Beyoncé wanted Barbra’s opinion of her performance and I think Barbra asked her to sing the song in her honor

    ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Wow! Beyoncé is a “Once in a generation talent!”
    *Quit correction* - My uncle Parlett LeBlanc, was a part of the orchestra performing during this Beyoncé performance and it was Beyoncé who stopped the performance during the actual taping, because Beyoncé didn’t like the way she sounded. And Beyonce wanted to start again.

    I would think that as you saiid , Barbara was really just trying to get the best out of Beyonce, and believed in her ability to deliver it. Kudos to Beyonce humbly accepting and understand the intent. These days too many people have large egos…

    Also something to know is Beyonce is famous for rearranging songs, it's one if the biggest complaints songwriters have about her. And that may have also been a factor. But I've seen her about 5 or 6 times live and my God can that woman out on a show.

    • @SteadyNUnremitting
      @SteadyNUnremitting 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      This is false! Songwriters who worked with her, loved the fact she elevates the song and actually contributes to it rather than xerox the demo. Plus Beyoncé's does her own vocal arrangements.

    Considering the severe, debilitating pre-performance nervousness that Barbara suffered herself I’m surprised she would say something like that to another professional like Beyoncé. The pacing of the song is really the only difference I noticed. I’ve never considered the inductees having any impact on or interactions with those doing their tributes. I guess they wouldn’t want to offend them by choosing a mortal enemy or a subpar performer.

    Barbra didn't win a Golden Globe for Directing for no reason. She is a stickler for truth and striving for the best you can be. I'm sure Beyonce may have even asked Barbra her thoughts after the rehearsal, and Barbra will always give you her honest opinion, especially if she knows you can do better. You also have to be careful with everything you read. It's why Barbra stopped giving interviews because she would always get misquoted or exaggerated.
    Barbra is the idol of many singers who came after her, including Beyonce. She is arguably considered the greatest vocalist of all time. And her genres didn't just stop with the songs your parents knew. She's dueted with some of the greatest ever too, and has three albums alone of them with the likes of Sinatra and Tony Bennet to Johns Legend and Maher; from Judy Garland to Celine Dion, Donna Summer, and even, at the age of 77, live on stage with Ariana Grande. It's obvious you guys could fill a thimble with what you think you know, have heard and have seen of this woman's 62-year career. When Barbra sings a song, it's in 3D while most everyone else is in 2D. Whether it's Broadway, R&B, Pop, Soft Rock, Disco, Classical or even Reggae and Country... she nails it. Even Barry Gibb, who wrote two albums for Barbra, once said..."There are the 10 greatest singers in the world, then there's Barbra Streisand." (pronounced btw, StrI-Sand... there's no "Z" in her name.)
