      @@joshuahering2041 on a real test, the professor would have to give you that one haha. You'd have good reason to pick none of the above; I think he just slipped a little when he was drawing that 1700 stretch.

    Great content, however at 6:10 the signal is between 2000cm^-1 and 3000 cm^-1, you approximated it as 1700cm^-1.

      The same mistake was made at 10:02 Great content! This really broke IR spectra interpretation for me.

    For problem #4, can you clarify this. U said the peak was at 1700 however the peak was presented after 2000, roughly 2200. Is this a mistake. This confused me as I see you had the C=O in all the answers but the peak was not presented around 1600

    In 1:37, the option D is in alkyne terminal end, why is the wavenumber not 3100-3200? He said 2200, that’s for an internal alkyne.

    At 9:35 how does answer choice A have an Alkane stretch? Is it because there's a CH2 bond in between the NH2 and Benzene ring?

    You've painted the C=O signal as in it was 2200-2300, not 1700 :(

    Im confused because my IR chart says an OH bond is between 3200 and 3500. Not at 3000

      In my IR chart, we are given three options for OH bonds. When OH is present in an alcohol, phenols (dilute solutions), it is between 3590 and 3650. When OH is present in alcohol, phenols (hydrogen bonded) it is between 3200 and 3550. When OH is present in carboxylic acids (hydrogen bonded), it is between 2500 and 3000.

    Number four confused me I initially chose A but then I switched to be because it looked more like something was at 1300 than at 1700. I guess spotting errors helps learn too. Maybe that was his goal.

    Wouldn't problem 5 be A because 2 peaks on the amine mean it is a primary amine? and answer D is a secondary amine.

      Answer D is primary amine as nitrogen is directly attached to one single carbon and not 2. At first I also thought the same but then after looking at it carefully I realised it just looks so because of the ring it appears as if it's attached to 2 carbon but no just 1. It's been a year though!😂
