Shielded bearings are a little more durable and a good option, but they can be harder to get in and out! Metal could last longer but if not adjusted properly could do more damage than plastic.
Not positive but I tend to believe that sealed bearings last longer. I have a set of wheels that are about 20 years old with sealed bearings and they roll faster than people I ride with that have new bikes. And, I weigh a lot less than they do.

I had thought remove axel , use a drift to knock out old bearing. The bearings must press in and trap the axil. So what's the trick?? I'm old and not as smart as I used to be. Woppes

汎用ベアリング6001だったと思うを交換すれば、すぐに新品の性能に回復できるのが特徴。
シマノだとカップ＆コーンだから調整が必要。

How to insert the bearing to the right depth, only with a washer, you will not go deep enough ?
It actually places it even with outer edge of the hub.

This was not converted. It was always a sealed bearing hub. 👍👊
Use a socket better than a washer, or u hammer damage the bearings not the race

Put the bearings in the freezer and use a torch or even a heat gun to warm up the axle where the bearing goes and it will fit right in
