    Thank you so much for this excellent lesson. I have learnt a lot.
    With regard to your question at the end, I have tried a few other methods to learn Lithuanian before this and my main complaint is that they introduce new language far too quickly. Once something has been introduced (with a rather poor explanation), it is expected to be understood and known. There is a tendency to rush through the language so I found myself being introduced to the past tense without even knowing how to make negative or interrogative sentences in the present. I have started a number of methods with enthusiasm but given up after a short time due to frustration.
    Your method of introducing language slowly with good explanations and a lot of repetition, and then getting the learner to guess the answer and create phrases and sentences by themselves before you reveal the correct answer with a clear explanation is the perfect method for me. I have understood and learnt more in these two lessons than in everything I have done before. And with your repetition and clarity of pronunciation, I think my pronunciation is quite good!! 😄 My Lithuanian partner is quite impressed, anyway. Now I can say to her: Tu labai protinga. Aš labai laimingas! 😄

    Sveikas Edgars! I love your videos. I am learning Lithuanian language as a beginner. I have a question about the verb "to be". In spoken language, we can say either "Jis yra labai laimingas" and "Jis labai laimingas." What about the written language? Can we omit the verbs in the written language? The written language is that we can write or books, newspapers, magazines etc. I would love to watch your videos and keep it up!!! Never give it up! I know that this language is very difficult, but I try to challange to this.

      No, you usually would not omit those in written language, but that would depend on the situation. If you are writing a book or a letter to a friend you choose your style. But if it's a legal document for example than no, you would not omit anything

    As someone who grew up in Germany and speaking Russian and German from earliest childhood, (around 6 yo) it is not hard for me to learn new languages (I also speak Polish, Ukrainian, badly French and Spanish). That in Lithuanian you can leave out the "to be" part is also common in Ukrainian where you can use the word "to be" but usually we don't use it. The E at 13:19 : it sounds like the German Ä. In summer of 2022 I was in Lithuania and since then I had the wish to learn Lithuanian. With this channel I can finally break with my excuses not to learn it. Aš esu labai laiminga! Labai ačiū!

    So this isn’t a word in this lesson but I wanted to combine the word “good” in Lithuanian in the same sentence as “it is” which would be “It is good” I’m just a little confused on it. I am aware that geros, geras and maybe one more is are similar but used in different contexts and I don’t know if they can all be used universally since I’m also a male perspective. But if I were to say “it is good” or “this is good” would I be saying “tai yra geros” or “tai yra geras” and then other short and simple versions would be “tai geros” or “tai geras”

    Could you, please, explain the pronunciation a bit/ Why "lAIminga" You pronounce as "lEIminga', "ji" ia peonounces more than "je", "Čia" - like "Če", "labai" - like "labei"?

    • @spokenlithuanian7186
      @spokenlithuanian7186  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I will actually be doing a lesson on that in the future. A simple and short explanation would be that "i" sound differently depending on what letters it is sitting in between :) In case of "Čia" it works as a softener. It is called Minkštumo ženklas in Lithuanian language. It acts that way before other vowels. When it is after a vowel you get that extended stress, which makes it sound as "labEI" to you. Another lesson I need to do :)
