I’m learning tamer on controller. So a few questions: how are you skyreaching into kick? What skills should I hotbar? It’ll most likely be a challenge but is there anyway I can use as fee heauklang commands as possible? Thanks
Skyreach from hotbar, grab is how - check out my guide on tamer pvp and skip to the hotbar section - and yeah on a controller sounds hard but maybe ask console tamer? There's a few on YT, not sure if any overlap there but the only dog skill you need is command attack really - think he is guard mode when summoned by default but if that's your preferred style as long as you can summon him before combat you dont even need any of the four command keys tbh. They are just minor augments to your playstyle IMO
@@stardawggunrocks5152 so just to clarify you’re using skyreach into preawk move kick that’s blue I forget name. Tbh soaring arts is really damn near impossible on controller. There really isn’t many controller tamers at all
I've been using bitterness crystals and haetae and new hooms in PvP, I think in PvE it is obvious what is good and bad so I assume you mean PvP. Because I have the other defensive stats from wailing labreska, wailing FG armor, wailing dahns and C20 boots, and because I have enough AP at 323 to kill non-evasion people, I think the extra trade time with my block lasting longer than before and taking less damage in superarmor cc fishing/trades (more like lovetaps lol) is more valuable than trying to go full damage since the full damage setup with new crystals is just objectively not equal in offensive stat gain to the new defensive stats with bitterness, haetae, and hoom. I also switched to using untouchable artifact set to compliment the new tankiness that is possible. The theory of it is we are an opportunist skirmisher class, that surveys a battle and chooses where to apply our toolkit while evading enemy attacks completely with movement and s. We do not trade until the trade is very one-sided in our favor, because it consumes many of our defensive resources for negating damage to go on the attack. We are an opportunist, but by trading you can also create opportunities later if you retain enough block Guage and HP to disengage and rengage quickly. This is the opportunity I feel tanky crystals provides, that full damage crystals do not - the opportunity after the first engagement with the enemy, and the next, without having to reset for HP and low block meter. Because our CDs are shorter, our stamina efficiency better, our ability to get up and down terrain pretty good, the longer we fight against small groups where we can see and avoid skills coming the worse their position can get if you're tricky with your mind games and movement. However, the #1 thing for tamer is when you grab someone alone you should have enough damage to kill them unless they are building evasion which requires you to choose between general effectiveness vs most players and special teams against tankards. You can build to kill tanktards but you need accuracy accessories that won't help your damage vs. normal DR if you are comboing correctly, and at lower gs you probably get more bang for buck maximizing AP, and relying on your s and burst movement to stay untouched until an opportunity is there. I run the tanky shift rn because it currently feels like I get more opportunities than full dmg build, but if I start WASTING opportunities because I don't have enough damage you bet your ass I'm going back to full glass cannon everything that I possibly can to get enough damage to kill my caught prey, or help kill that of my teammates. You can actively play more conservative on tamer if you lack defense, but if your grab combo doesn't kill people then your usefulness is down bad. Some tamer try full DP as cc bit support role and its not useless, it just isn't as useful as doing that on other classes that have more pronounced tools for supporting damage dealers with secondary CC, debuffs, zoning and buffs while being unkillable like Shai.
@@stardawggunrocks5152 thank you very much yes indeed I tested with the set full human damages and it was really not practical dutout I could one combo any person in DR but I made me one shoot too

nice! me too, I've been performing okay in some of them - still a lot to work on but on a flex squad especially it feels like there's good potential for us, bsr moonlight strike is also a goated dismount skill lol
Thanks so much! Most of the video I was running moonlight core, which generally performs a bit worse in group PvP but for the random niche playstyle with jump height and single-target elimination on roofs I'm going for here in most of the video it's a super long range engage from skyreach into moonlight strike. I can't recall if I was doing that for every single clip, there might be some where I'm running beast rampage core like in NWs... but overall, my opinion is that moonlight strike core is great choice for "ambush" style, single-target elimination and of course 1v1. However the "group pvp cores" are typically beast dance if you feel like you can survive in that SA long enough, and Beast Rampage which is generally considered the strongest all around. Beast Rampage is only 4s cooldown, it's our highest damage skill in kit, with the core it is a multi-hit CC on it, 360 degress around you with a decent AoE relative to tamer skills overall, and you can mouse move it too if you're going tryhard xD. Since there's so much damage in the game now, even in AoS the SA cores are a bit harder to apply correctly because if you take too much damage and it doesn't work you're disadvantaged on the reset. Anyways a whole lot of random talk and reading into your question, but I just wanted to make it clear that me running Core: Moonlight Strike is definitely a more niche choice that requries more caution and movement fluidity than the others. Hope that helps! Welcome to Tamer o7
thanks! I agree she's definitely in a good spot especially as a survivalist, the movement QoL and protection we've been getting have lots of utility. If you add some movement speed and jump height it feels especially strong. Been wondering for a while if we'll see some changes on the test server to bump damage/AoE on some filler skills that don't have much, but Tamer feels pretty good rn to me
I would rate her as above average. We don't have any of the premium features of S tier large scale classes in excess or basically at all - AoE, high percentage 100 to 0 hp engage plays outta nowhere, big ranged damage. But go on down the list of things that are still useful to have on your side in large scale, and we are up there with the best in some other categories. Terrain abuse and getting into and back out of fights even when behind enemy lines or outnumbered (lahn is best ofc). Damage mitigation/s (sorc is best ofc). Grab on par and sometimes better than ninja/kuno, lahn, warrior, striker, ranger etc they all have different ways they are deadly with it but as you see from this video we can grip ppl in all kinds of filthy ways too. I think if the pet traps had more reliable chances to stiffen I would increase my rating to "good" because we would again be great at zone denial. We do have a decent large AoE play with our ult too if you position, prebuff, and time it right. Overall you will struggle to get the kill feeds other classes get and when you are focused by the enemy it can feel hard to combo out people you CC. Remember that you dont have to combo it out, getting a CC and attracting attention onto you and your glorious s is already a decent win. But it might not be enough to justify dying in that moment so choose life if you don't think you can squeeze out the kill with repositioning. Better opportunities usually present later, but you wont see those if you play too aggressive. Keep an eye out for helping you teammates with their engagements because you can get to them and drop a beast rampage very quickly with skyreach and moonlight. Grab ranged classes that circle out too far, try to get groups to chase you off to the side so your guys can flank, and so you can string out a group into manageable 1v1s and 1v2s. Once that third person shows up you might lose track of your back, it's much more comfy to take 2 or less if you must engage outnumbered. Don't be afraid to reset completely either, very few classes can still run you down if you skyreach away over terrain features, and even lahn will have to go up in the air for a bit giving you time to plan your counter and it's 1v1 at that point so you're up by retreating in that case. I'm not super experienced in large scale so I'm only sharing my thoughts based on the fights we get in T2, T3, and uncapped NWs that I sometimes go to. It feels like I am able to contribute on flex and if I don't yeet into the maegu pit I can do some stuff when we pair with main ball too.
Thanks! yeah I love it w/o the cape, I like the cape too but it just doesn't move around as much and kinda hides part of the character animations when you do them sometimes so for now we hide cape lol
