Which trimmer do you prefer the dedicated new Milwaukee string trimmer or this Milwaukee quick lock trimmer does one weigh more then the other or any other differences such as power and vibration
If it’s just for string trimming then I prefer a dedicated machine. Ultimately I’ve always had both even when I used gas machines. But I’d only use the attachment capable machine for hedge trimming, edging, pruning etc. I always had a string trimmer attachment for it but only to have as a backup to the main dedicated machine. If you’re starting out and on a limited budget then just buy the quick lok and use it for all the tasks and then get a dedicated machine for string trimming when you can. For these the quick lok would be a bit heavier with the extra attachment parts. Also the guard on the attachment is the bigger round disk style design vs the guard on the dedicated machine being a the smaller pie shape I prefer. I would say power wise although the motor is probably the same it felt like the dedicated machine was more powerful. Maybe just my perception. Maybe something to do with the connection. Maybe the gears are different in the trimmer gear box. Maybe it was the battery I was using was getting low on power although it was still at two bars. It was the same one from the trimmer only video that I also used for a few days prior to that to do some hedge trimming jobs. The battery that came with the kit I had not charged yet so I swapped it for the one I had already tried to use the trimmer. Thanks for watching.
Let me know in the comments below what you think of the new Milwaukee M18 Quick Lok sting trimmer kit for Forge battery.
