I absolutely love how he takes characters, teams and puts them in so many cool scenarios or fights. Like John suck vs the purge, Green lantern Corps vs galactus or Iron Man VS Blue beetle and so on.
For the most part, he has good battles, without a doubt, but he has gotten many, many fights wrong. Prime examples being Godzilla VS. Doomsday, Galactus VS. Darkseid, Hulk VS. Doomsday and Batman VS. Black Noir.

Yes, Freddy loves a good fight, but Wolverine is much more prepared for a fight. Wolverine does have some fears that Freddy can take advantage of though. Wolverine is afraid that he will lose the ones he loves and he's afraid of losing control and hurting the ones he loves.
My thoughts exactly, and just to add onto that. Even if Freddy lost against Wolverine, who says that The Springwood Slasher wouldn't tap into that and just start going after the X-Men and those around him. Freddy's been known for doing that to many of his victims.

This is one of the cases where one adversary just has everything they need to beat the other. Wolverine knows Freddy's methods, using them himself in a different way. He is more strategic, his physical advantages are greater, he has level 9 psi shield installed by Professor Xavier, something Freddy has never dealt with before, and Wolverine can outfight Freddy using military and martial skill. Yes, Freddy loves a good fight, but Wolverine is much more prepared for a fight. And if that's not enough for you, Freddy really has no method to overcome Wolverine's healing factor or adamantium skeleton
