10 reasons why there should be a RoboCop vs. Terminator movie. 1. They’ve already crossed over in comic books and in a video game. Just not on the big screen which would be a pretty big deal. 2. Both film franchises have gone downhill. A cinematic showdown has potential to revitalize both of them in more ways than one. 3. Not only would it have exciting action, it would have iconic one-liners. “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me,” and “I’ll be back,” to name a few. 4. It could perform well at the box office. A movie about the two greatest cyborgs of the 80’s would interest old and new fans. 5. Hollywood gave us Godzilla vs. King Kong, Freddy vs. Jason, and Alien vs. Predator. Who’s to say they can’t give us RoboCop vs. Terminator? 6. RoboCop Returns will be a sequel to 1987’s RoboCop. It’s the perfect opportunity to merge it with the Terminator universe. 7. It would be a dream match come true. For years, people have been debating as to which machine would win in a fight to the finish. 8. It would be a story that writes itself. Skynet sends a Terminator back in time to old Detroit to terminate OCP’s RoboCop for whatever reason. 9. They can always use CGI to de-age Arnold Schwarzenegger. It’s been done in the last three Terminator flicks, including Dark Fate. 10. They used one of the Terminator themes for one of the RoboCop trailers. Maybe there were plans for a crossover back in the day.
I agree the only thing is the last 2 robocop films sucked and the last 2 terminator films sucked the last to predator films sucked to so they should do a terminator vs robocop vs predator movie and we can prey they don't screw it up.
OMG Girl There’s a theory that Terminator and Predator are set in the same universe. Schwarzenegger was in both franchises and it’s possible that the T-800 was modeled after Dutch. Cyber-Dutch was a character in the Aliens vs. Predator arcade game. His serial number was CDS-170A3, and CDS stands for Cyberdyne Systems. Schwarzenegger was supposed to appear in the Alien vs. Predator movie as a cyborg Dutch but couldn’t due to scheduling conflicts.

And that is why Robocop won. Even though he's been defeated a bunch of times, in all three movies, he survived. In contrast the T-800 model in each terminator was always destroyed, one way or the other.
This sure hasn't aged well but that certainly doesn't change how awesome it is. Also, nice attention to detail with how they use their weapons. Murphy uses his guns like an extension of himself while Terminator treats his like tools, tossing them away if they run out of ammo or get too damaged.

Yeah but remember how they said it could even gain emotions despite how it's meant to be a remorseless killing machine? Given all it just got thru, including but not llimted to, it's minigun jammed, being set on fire, loosing it's plasma rifle AND arm, to say nothing of how Murphy would simply NOT die despite everything he's doing, I think at some point he got pissed off. When you're angry, things like keeping track of ammo could not be as high a priority. Even though that did occur to me, I feel I'd be not giving credit where credit is due to also mention TV tropes and the Death Battle page on that site, along with the 'Fridge' section saying just as much and/or it being damaged to a point that it could have been just as that if not something of both. I could be entirely off base though.
I think the fights themselves are more for entertainment. There’s more than one way for a fight to end or begin, so the actual results are decided by the skill analysis and calculation portions of the video.
Rossriders To be fair, that only happens when their learning computer is activated. When sent to the past alone, however, they get switched to Read Only.
You have to remember, thats just a fake skin wrap. Thats not his actual face or head. The entire head unit is robot. Even his eyes. In Robocop 2, he asks his wife to touch the skin on his face and she recoils saying its cold.
Came back to watch this because I feel like this is one of the best Death Battles for one reason: it captured the spirit of both characters. The Terminator was a ruthless assassin with no morals and one mission, RoboCop a one man army who tried to stop a criminal robbing a store, and the plot twists were great too. The hydrogen fuel cell the end is the one that gets me still. I loved it and hope that more Death Battles can capture the spirit of the characters being contested as well as this one did!
Xcave spiderX Although they made some mistakes with Goku's analysis I also enjoyed that fight and I agree with its outcome (if you take into account Superman's strongest incarnations).
Terminator learning to feel isn't _that_ far fetched when you consider the replicants from Blade Runner having limited lifespans specifically to prevent them from becoming too human as well. But even then that timespan's four whole years, meaning it takes them at least that long, making Terminator's a mighty fast learner!
In the director's cut of T2, the Terminator explains this by stating that Skynet activates a kind of "limited learning" mode on their CPU before sending them out on independent missions, because it doesn't want to run the risk of them becoming sentient and going rogue. John wants to enable his full capabilities, and the Terminator walks him and Sarah through how to do it. This makes sense, since Skynet itself became self-aware within an hour of being brought online. Obviously a Terminator has less processing power than a supercomputer network like Skynet, so the process takes longer, but taking that reduced computing power into account, it makes sense that the Terminator could reach that state within the matter of days that T2 takes place.
@@nessdragon His CPU is in a "read only" mode, so all he is capable of doing is following what's already programmed. They took it out, flipped it to read and write and that's when he began learning. Still not capable entirely of showing emotions. Though that is kind of in question after Genysis when he says to "Protect my Sara".
@@snyperwulffgaming9575 It can't be in a full "read only" mode, because we do see the T-800 in the first movie learning things like new phrases. However, its capacity to learn is clearly limited. My guess is that functions that would permit the Terminator to infiltrate more successfully are permitted to read/write, but any functions that could lead to actual sentience and questioning of orders are locked down.

T800s apparently are "cheaply" mass produced, limited to their programs and are easily hacked. I thought Robocop would lose because the vulnerable human heart and brain, but 99% of Robocop's body is such denser titanium than the T800. When you look at the first Robocop movie the robot arm of Robocop is way thicker and dense than a T800 that has to be thin enough to fit inside a "human" arm. weight for weight Robocop looks to be far more stronger than a T800, though if the T800 punched Robocop in the brain than the battle would be over.
In the New game, he manages to push a 4.7 ton shipping container with rubble out of the way with ease. At that strength, he can literally just dismantle a terminator with his hands.
now that arney is a liquid metal terminator I'd be interested in who would win if they fought again. I'm not sure if robocops weaponry would really do anything against liquid metal *EDIT* terminator freakin said he'd be back
pretty much though robocop is ridiculous as fuck in terms of the damage he can tank. the terminator would still have to wear him down for awhile. the only real potential for challenge would be that weird reprogramming spike that robocop has but I seriously doubt he could reprogram a liquid metal terminator.
curtis brown Honestly I was thinking that too. I want to see what a T-3000 could do, especially John Connor's version. You have that human factor for creativity that Murphy has, and the more or less invincibility that Robocop has also. Plus the skills of both a T-1000 and a T-800, I feel like the T-3000 would be the ultimate challenge for Robocop.

Y'know Robocop was made to survive anything Detroit could throw, which is pretty much anything including a nuclear detonation, the Terminator was designed to kill desperate humans with limited resources. Its no wonder Robocop won.
@Beckett Coxworth Ok that isn't at all what happened in the video. It was a straight fight between a T-850 and Robocop. Making up scenarios just to win a lost fight doesn't ever change the fact the T-850 lost.
@Beckett Coxworth His mouth is a very small target, and given the nature of ballistics, it's far more simplistic to aim for center mass as opposed to risking a miss.
@Beckett Coxworth did you even watched robot cop because he also has experience in combat and the terminater doesn't have very powerful weapons and robot cop was more smarter than the terminater
@Beckett Coxworth dude the terminater got exploded to pieces with a homemade bomb and robo cop was more smarter and more creative and more stronger than the terminater and the terminater's weapons won't do much
It's hard to win an argument against smart people... BUT it's a lot more harder to win an argument against idiots or dumbfucks (I'm talking to you, Beckett Coxworth)
Don't forget the T-850 stopped an automatic nuclear blast door from shutting with one arm in Terminator 3. Also how about a rematch since they both got new feats. As of the remake of RoboCop and Terminator Genysis
Robocop has superior strength feats and about a thousand times the durability. Also death battle uses the strongest versions of the character which is what the 850 from Salvation was. Any of the liquid metal terminators would have a far better if not unfair advantage.

They seemed to be dropping so many hints at a Terminator victory. "He's more skilled than a human possibly could be" "Murphy has human weakpoints" "Murphy has a battery life issue" "Murphy is slow as hell" "The Terminator has a plasma gun from the future (that can instantly tear apart any highly durable material)"
again murphy has taken multiple plasma rifle shots at once and hes fine... it took many many people with multiple plasma rifles to cause him serious damage. one rifle will do nothing....
@@protector22222 throughout the original trilogy of RoboCop Murphy’s titanium armor becomes more durable than the previous versions because in the first film (1987) it was barely stopping ED-209’s 20mm cannons along with the SWAT member’s high-penetrative rounds but in the second film he was able to tank multiple direct hits from RoboCain’s arsenal of weapons
@@protector22222 that would imply that the dinky little plasma shots fired at RoboCop are at the same level of terminators space rifle and I will gladly admit defeat if you can prove that they were I'll admit defeat
@Nicole White here's the thing Terminator can't bring that back from the future. "Nothing dead will go," so they shouldn't even have mentioned it because it wouldn't be a factor here regardless of its power (the animation is frankly impossible by the lore of the movies also ive watched every Terminator movie and have never once seen The Terminator be able to store any weapon in his chest) he would only have the weapons he could obtain in the timeline he's in which would be the "dinky plasma" bolts fired at robocop at most which you'd already know if you watched even the first bloody movie
But the key difference is Robocop always has access to his arsenal while Terminator does not. Because nothing dead can travel through time.

Nothing like a good ol’ gunfight.
You have to admit the ending to the fight really felt like something straight out of a movie, I could actually see Robocop defeating a terminator in this fashion.
Well, I guess we can add, “fought and defeated the Terminator,” to Robocop’s feats list.
Perhaps though I wish that the Terminator would of just tried its best to keep a grip on Robocop in an attempt to bring him down with itself.
Agreed, man.

Assuming the terminator reloaded the shotgun in the first place. We never actually saw reloading.

Same year the reboot of Robocop showed.
I thought the replicants were genetically/cybernetically enhanced clones with brains, not robots?

When you look at the first Robocop movie the robot arm of Robocop is way thicker and dense than a T800 that has to be thin enough to fit inside a "human" arm.

Yes. And Xander Mobus should repris his role so we can say that Akira Kurusu killed a Termonator again.
If any fight deserves a remake/rematch it's this beautifully nostalgic and musically awesome match
@@gmork1090 T-1000 was better than T-850, i have researched for weeks and found that T-1000 is better than T-850 (for example Pops) plus i almost forgot that T-3000 was way stronger than any before.
I think you right that the T-1000 is better at one point but once that T-850 starts to learn and adapt to its surroundings like pops and then he gets a bad ass upgrade at the end of Genisys

Of all your Death Battles, this one stands alone as your very best. Perfect commentary, perfect story telling and perfect fight. 10/10
I say we bring Arnold back against Robocop for a rematch now that they both got a wee bit revamped ^.^
Just my opinion though ^.^
Well if goku and superman can have a rematch I guess there's no reason for why terminator and robo cop can't
TehGoldylockz righr bring on the T-1000 Rematch! Rematch! Rematch!
REMATCH!
TehGoldylockz ScrewAttack! I agree! REMATCH M*****F*****S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Robocop Would lose anyway.
But in the rematch terminator would kick robo cops but.
At least the Terminator won in Epic Rap Battles
@Troll Theory that's what he just did
It was too hype up the new terminator movie at the time
