Thanks for the video! One of my greatest fears as a new excavator owner. I now feel I can easily get it back on by myself.

"Put the bike chain back on the sprocket." Great job! Improvise, adapt and overcome!

Been working excavators 40 years. Usually just man handle and pry bar and another person on controls. Oh and a lot of cursing. When by yourself, as I was other day, and track came of G50 JD used this method and took a whopping 4 minutes. Pissed I never did it ages ago . Makes perfect sense and just never thought of it- to much dust in the brain I guess . So good one ☝️

WhoDoggie! Well, it sounds like you got the job done plenty of times even with the cussin’ and I’m glad you got the upgraded method now. God bless TH-cam putting all our good ideas out there for sharing.
I saw a bumper sticker today that said “the internet can fix my bike”. Had to think about that for a minute. Dust in my brain too! Lol.
Truth be told, I’ve done it the hard way too many times to count as well.

Most people today would call it quits for the day. You just showed American ingenuity to get the job done!
This may seem simple but in a small way it shows we are competing globally. Good job Jesse!

I had to do the same by myself and the only thing I did differently was when I got the track sitting as close to the underside rollers I lowered the entire machine onto the track and drove backwards while turning the machine and track against the front main roller. It makes a hell of a bang so now I do the same but I remove the grease tensioner before tracking against the track. Takes me now 10 minutes to get it on before adjusting the track.

It's a good technique but remember guys it's one off or you are somewhere in the desert you do that, doing this can cause the rubber track to rip because of stretch force

    • @HighPerformanceEarthworks
      @HighPerformanceEarthworks  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Agreed. Better to release the track tension if you came prepared with tools like a responsible operator should. Do as I say not as I do kind a thing.

The same way you put the track back on with a large excavator. Just watch how Tony Beets does it. Bucket to the side and raise the the drive side off the ground.

You did a great job with the video. Nice clear instructions. Very well explained. Don't pay attention to the idiot
Where is his basement professor professional video. I'm an Equipment owner operator and you did a great job.

As a one man show You did excellent..👍😊 I would seriously think about the final drive sprocket teeth are showing excessive wear.

Indeed. I believe I can do it with a regular sized bucket as well. I’ll try next time time I throw a track with a regular bucket.

My bucket couldn’t reach but a 2x6 worked to bridge the gap

Only strait forward vid. My track came off alone. Same logic. My rippa 2023 didn’t have enough power to do this in the woods. I nursed it back 1/4 mile to try to do this again in a safe environment. I have no tools.

Always good to make a 7 min video when it could just be 2 at most. Not sure why we needed to know what job you were working on etc.

    • @HighPerformanceEarthworks

Sure. I’m an excavator not a professional video editor obviously. There’s the reason I’m digging holes and not getting paid in Hollywood. 😂

Soon the cab and try it and let us know if you were able to manage it. Otherwise we’ll have to wait until it happens to me and I can make another vid.

We, we run cat and bobcat and kubota. Gotta say I love the kubota machines most. But I mostly stick with cat simply due to the service superiority.
