- After a recent hatch we find ourselves splinting a chick foot for a chick born with a pronated foot. Chicks can be born with a variety of leg and foot problems. Sometimes culling is the answer and sometimes splinting can correct the issue. We successfully splint a foot and follow up 48 hours later to see our results.
I thought I was the one who invented that transportation method! Hehe. Thank you for this is super helpful for my situation right now and you explained it and showed it so well!
Love your humor! Love them!
Great job Goose Goose! I'm glad you were there to supervise your people so they were able to successfully splint your little friend. 😉
She's the best! I love that girl
You have blessed my heart. Thank you for the video!
Great video glad you made it I will have to pick up supplies to have on hand great video have a blessed night
It's a great little kit to have. Lots of my stuff came right from my kitchen junk drawer. A lot like an arts and crafts project. Each one looks a little different.
Great supervising job goose goose. Look forward to your helping to teach me more about chicka feet.
Thanks for your help !! We used a piece of laminating sheet on the bottom, 2 vet wrap spacers like yours, then plastic medical tape, and trimmed it to size.
Fantastic, how did your little guy do?
@@mcwilliamsheritagefarm1981 Our chick is doing wonderfully! Thank you so much for your instructional video. The foot is now looking completely normal. 🖤🤍
Very helpful!
I love the goose!
How can I tell if baby chicks leg is broken or sprang?
Goose Goose took the job very seriously. Great teamwork you guys ♥️
You would be kind enough if you guide what to do when green sparrow's chick cant stand on its right leg and has curled toes ? It feels as if its leg is broken.
Wow mam you are doing great work. Also use some good vitamins and minerals premix like ADEK😊😊😊
My chick is young, we got him and he has a wound on his back, the other chicks are pecking at it so we want to cover it up. What method can we do this so it doesn’t come off? I’m afraid his wound will contaminate others since they peck on it, can it? What do you think? Thankyou!!
Hi
Where r you?
I am treating a little orphaned kid goat that has his two front feet turned inward at the ankle & walking on them. we didn't find him
until possibly day two. He's in splints now. Not fun poor lad.
Was it a rooster?! lol
Lol!!
can you splint an adult chicken/rooster?
You could. Chick feet are easy to mold and are very flexible in the first few days. An adult is going to be harder to change the outcome. I would definitely give it a try if quality of life was being affected.
