My passion for how music and theater is written mainly comes from him. I am so proud that he moved past Howard's death and became a better person having lost his best friend and partner so young. Howard would be extremely proud of him and the world he has created for Disney films.

He's got a pretty good singing voice himself! I remember him saying his voice is always higher than those who sing his songs (on one of the Bonus Tracks for the Aladdin Broadway musical soundtrack). Plus it's amazing he can play all those songs from memory like that.
He and Howard Ashman were like Rodgers and Hart. Fabulous music and lyrics. And when Ashman, like Lorenz Hart, passed away, Menken, like moved on to create great music with others.
What I love is he’s not trying to nail any vocals or playing super perfectly. What makes his writing so special is he really captures the emotion, musicality, and spirit of those characters and those moments in the movies.
I adore him. #1 person on the planet I would love to meet. Not only did he create some of my favorite soundtracks ever (Newsies, BATB, little shop of horrors, Galvant, etc), he comes across as so genuine and friendly. I've seen so many interviews and he seems insanely nice and normal. I would literally be speechless if I actually met him.
