  • How to fit Cube Acid front and rear mudguards / fenders set and avoid the mistakes I made! Step-by-step guide to fit the Cube Acid specific mudguards / fenders set, in this case to a Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 625. Be ready for any stumbling blocks such as the front pack having 2 left hand stay clamps instead of a left and a right. I also found 2 bolts were the wrong size and a washer was missing. The written instructions supplied are not the best. The fitting packs can look daunting but you may find, like me, that most of the fittings are not required as Cube supply fittings to suit various models. It took me about 2 hours to fit both but hopefully you can spend 20 minutes watching this video and then take only 1 hour to fit the mudguards without making the mistakes that I made. Good luck and please Subscribe or at least give me a thumbs up. Thanks.

    Thank you so much for this video. I wrongly assumed that fitting Cube mudguards to my new Cube hybrid would be a doddle. What a nightmare. Instructions that make no sense, parts that are missing/dupicated. I was on the verge of giving up. I've ended up cobbling it together, partly using your advice and partly with a couple more cable ties. Thanks again!

    Hello from France. Just received my mudguards for my hybrid reaction race. Hopefully you spend time for this video because I found the instructions paper very weak. Thanks a lot for all your tricks, I’m working tomorrow on it.

    I bought a similar set for 26” bike and it’s not good. Metal parts should be shortened. Rear one cannot be installed without drilling it. Very disappointing.
    Thanks for the video, now I see that I’m not the only one with this problem.

    A common way to solve it is to buy universal rear rack, if the rack foot distance is around 140mm-150mm it can fit frame rack mount(Also make sure the right angle, Giant(One type) rack can match it well). I also use ass saver to replace acid fender. To attach rear rack, you also need to buy a 27.2/31.8/35(depend on your frame)seat clamp with rack mount. I just don't know why Cube set so many non-standard specifications.

      @@leelovesnature Unfortunately it didn't, two different small items broke, one beeing the screw on plate of the mudguard to the fork, and one of the little hooks in the rear mudguard that you twist the bar in. Not very good quality product 🙄

      Here's my suggestion. Throw the CUBE in the trash and get a bike from a manufacturer which isn't trying to screw you and scam you with this absolutely moronic mudguard mounting system. Unfortunately I bought a Cube Hyde and waste a bunch of money without realizing they have this stupid system.

    I have this bike and I am looking for mud (rain) guards for my tarmac commute during the winter. These are ugly as hell and look like a complete nightmare to install. Nearly 1kg extra weight too. I am going to end up buying something like the Ass Saver Win Wing Gravel for the rear or something that clips onto the seat post. Something small for the front that I can cable tie on maybe. It has to be light, easy and quick to install and remove for me.

    • @leelovesnature
      @leelovesnature  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Simon, they're not exactly pretty and fitting was a challenge. Not sure where you are but in the UK we can buy Muc-off lightweight guards and Halfords sell their Quick-fit guards that are ultra cheap. Best of luck.

    I've got cube cross pro bike so I thought cube bike should have cube acid madguars and it was stupid mistake to buy cube mudguards as on the other bike I have sks bluemels mudguards mudguards.
    The size is28inch and width 53mm, on both of the bikes.So I have to say that the pathetic attachment of the metal stils on polypropylene madguars is complete floor design,as I tried to keep the mudguards parallely with the tire so the end of the mudguards jumped out of the pathetic clips several times so it ended with duck tape to hold it together,otherwise the cube acid mudguards just the mudguards are quite rigid ,the only problem is the fitting and attachment of the small plastic parts, and it's very annoying and challenging to fit them ,so next time I will buy sks,good luck
