The Smiths creep up on you and before you know it, there's no escape.😊 I must say that I do love their very early output such as this and Hatful of Hollow and I think it's good that you've listened to a whole album because you get to hear some of their more thoughtful and ponderous moments rather than just the chart singles. There is so much more to The Smiths than just the singles. As Morrissey said, they create their own world and you can either enter that world or reject it and move on to something else.
To understand the last song, "Suffer Little Children" you need to look at the lyrics and read about the Moors Murders (1960's Manchester - when/where Morrissey grew up). Nice to see you reacting to The Smiths again (and shame I missed the live session)
