Why wouldn't priority pass to the opponent when they activate an effect? Cl1 eff to search wouldn't it pass to opponent for response? I'm not understanding why turn player would still have priority to chain block because I thought it was an optional effect

LaDD Lord has to activate as CL2 because it is mandatory, and since it is on the field (public knowledge) it goes before any potential quick effect of either player (like Ash Blossom). This has nothing to do with priority but how a chain is build. To start a chain we use any effect during an open game state. From that point every mandatory trigger has to activate (first turn player, then their opponent). After that optional trigger effects may activate (first turn player, then their opponent). Finally without any other trigger effects in play, the opponent of the player who placed the last trigger effect in that chain may add the first quick effect, and build from there vice versa. Any player can pass priority back so the opponent can form 2 chain links in a row by themselves, but after than the opponent can still respond. However if you pass priority and the opponent adds nothing to the chain, then the chain is stopped there (nothing can be added at this point) and its resolution begins where only effects that don't activate may apply (continuous effects like TCBOO, substitution effects like Dingirsu, or other unclassified effects such as Mirrorjade that prevents you from controlling more than 1)
This deck looks solid af the fact light and darkness dragon chain blocks is incredible and being able to otk out of seemingly nowhere is such a nice feature. Transmigration is such a powerful card I’m interested to see if it will end up finding a home in something like dragon link as a splashed engine
After some experimentation, I found that running a small package of After Glow/OG Galaxy-Eyes in the place of Ladd package is nice also since Afterglow can summon itself if you control a Galaxy-Eyes monster, and Infinity can summon Afterglow pretty easily, and it's very searchable. Afterglow then net you an extra body when it is detached from an XYZ monster or allowed you to one punch if you run the No.62 - No C62 package in the extra. The only downside is you have to run the OG Galaxy-Eyes.
So how the ruling on tachyon primal work? I assume you can search twice because you summoned it to their field the second so it’s technically their card that hasn’t activated it effect yet, BUT it’s an “if” and technically should be your opponents choice to activate it or not? In which case they would just choose not to?
I really think this will be meta since at worse its 3 counter trap negates, lulu pop, and number 38. Then it can easily get an ftk with catapult turtle searching off shark's rank 5. Then if you don't want to do that you can run 3 of tactic and thrust to hand rip and search black goat or mind crush if you want. You can even run necro polymarization to banish the materials to summon out the fusion. The only thing that sucks is you have by far the worst matchup against melodious going second. I test this deck A LOT lmao.
