No, you can't be the king or queen of any music genre if you only sing and dance. You have to be a creator and performer of the music itself, not just a presenter of it. The king and queen would have to be someone who writes and plays and sings/presents the music.
Awesome performance!! A little off subject because I'm seeing that another one of these playboy whores are sticking it to Bill Cosby once again. To be straight, I don't condone abusive conduct but those women KNEW what they were there for!!! Hugh Hefner was the biggest pervert and got away with sleeping with minors and everything!!
Yes I was thinking the same. The strength and energy she had to dance so on every song and land on every note spot on is unbelievable. They all look so beautiful and vibrant. That energy takes everything to another dimension....
Yes!! That's what a lot of singers lack-the voice control or wind control. I think it also has a lot to do with the lung capacity and distribution of air, etc. (Unlike Tina, I chose to be a nurse.) Anyway, it's a talent that you see only in a few when they sing live .
She sure did! As a performer, Tina had the speed, strength and stamina of an Olympic athlete. She was a magnificent force of nature! I just watched her 50th anniversary tour from 2009 (available for free on TH-cam & highly recommended). Tina was almost 70 years old, and she still had the voice, the dance moves, the charisma - and of course, the LEGS! She performed an incredible, over 2 hours long show, with a troupe of gorgeous young backing dancers young enough to be her granddaughters - and she kept up with them throughout! She totally owned the stage - she even recreated her iconic 'Auntie Entity' role from the Mad Max Thunderdome movie of 1985, with waist-length blonde wig and chain-mail dress. It was extraordinary - 24 years had passed since she first played that role as the futuristic queen, yet she looked exactly the same.
Tina was glorious. Her skin color, quality if skin, facial structure, everything was flawless, and she doesnt seem as if she ever wore a whole lot of makeup. Just a natural rock and roll goddess.
Agreed Tina was always very beautiful - those cheekbones, wow! And such powerful, natural charisma - she must have turned heads wherever she went. Thank God she escaped that thug Ike - she was always destined to step out of his clutches and be a superstar!

Me saying Tina had unbelievable talent doesn’t discount or negates Ike’s talent. He was a highly skilled musician and band leader. He was also an abusive and flawed man. From a documentary I watched on his life it seemed he was trying to redeem himself and that seemed to have brought some peace to his family. Tina Turner was a undeniable force. ELECTRIFYING ⚡⚡ I have never seen a performance of this caliber in my 33 years of living. Tina and the Ikettes INNIHILATED that stage. From their energetic choreography to their amazing live vocals. Just floored. That audience were clearly enjoying every minute. Loves it ❤️
The levels are just incomparable to today… the passion, the energy the raw brilliance of it all… If you think of the era performers like Tina grew up in.. with James Brown.. and the Motown acts… and it’s no wonder a little Michael Jackson came through this same year, watching these acts and performing the way he did..! The bar was SO high back then.. every note meant something.. the passion they conveyed.. It was all just utterly incomparable to what you see today. Todays artists are truly pathetic in comparison.. I don’t care what anyone says, you’re simply blinded by the hype if you can’t see it - artists like Tina paved the way.
Hefs shows were brilliant and cutting edge. My late father in law had a Playboy club key and card for the L.A. club, we found it in his things after he passed. I wish someone would bring the concept back to life and freshen it up for today's market. But Hef would be a hard act to follow IMHO.
Total professionals, no-one even comes within 1000miles if Ike and Tina and co even with all the new tech and savvy. Raw Talent and passion making people happy. True artists!!
Tina you legendary phenomenal woman❤ Ike was instrumental to their earlier success and talented sure but even as much as tried couldn’t dim this light that she is on her own🙏🏾 People always said oh Ike was the quiet one and Tina always talked in interviews etc well she was the main talent and he was most definitely in control and abusing bts as we all know. Everything is not always what it seems. Glad this fiery woman got back up and became even bigger on her own
Holy crap how I had forgotten about this show. Once I began watching here, some parts became familiar. b Tina was simply fabulous as always. And the TV sets across America were red hot as she jumped out of every TV that was watching.
This was my favorite Tins Turner song as a young girl watching it at home on television. It took a while for me to realize that rhe slow part of Proud Mary in the beginning was connected to the later “rough” part. When I finally understood that, I would watch, holding my breath, because I knew something was about to jump off.😂😂😂😂😂
Tina Tuner, the James Brow of Saia, the Queen of Rock Roo'l and also of world Pop music, an unforgettable voice, a Legend that will never be forgotten by several generations that will pass through our Planet Earth. Brazil.

Liza said "I wasnt the best singer so I channelled a character or a story in my performance"! Tina put her entire life into hers! Having great vocals is a must but she has electriying personality and no facade!
This is so under rated! Tina was one of the pioneers of rock in roll. The ladies and the band is the shit. Still watching this in 2020. "Lol Ike was cool in this too. He did write the songs. I don't approve of him hitting her though. Great.
why underrated?
Boom Shaka laka
Actually, all the songs in this piece...and a lot of the other ones were written by others. I wanna take you higher was a cover of Sly and the Family Stone, Come Together was by the Beatles, Proud Mary was CCR, and Honky Tonk Woman was by the Stones. Ike was a talented musician, but truly without Tina, he wouldn’t have made it
@@paisleyprincess7996 Ike is often credited as having written the first rocknroll song in 1951, "Rocket 88" th-cam.com/video/Gbfnh1oVTk0/w-d-xo.html
@@metalguru6152 yes, he did write Rocket 88 which was the start of R&R
How amazing that she went from interviewing to performance...
One year ago this month. Part of me stayed behind...May 24th, 2023.
"Every time I think of you...I always catch my breath." ❤❤❤
❤️
She killed it 🎉😂❤
Hello Pretty, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
ELECTRIFYING ⚡⚡ I have never seen a performance of this caliber in my 33 years of living. Tina and the Ikettes INNIHILATED that stage. From their energetic choreography to their amazing live vocals. Just floored. That audience were clearly enjoying every minute. Loves it ❤️
The levels are just incomparable to today… the passion, the energy the raw brilliance of it all…
If you think of the era performers like Tina grew up in.. with James Brown.. and the Motown acts… and it’s no wonder a little Michael Jackson came through this same year, watching these acts and performing the way he did..!
Tina was totally bluesy jazzy (think BBKing) and hard rock. That was definitely her.
You can hear that gospel in her voice , she was a beautiful person and went thru a lot God bless her soul you definitely be miss Tina Turner
Another cool thing about "Playboy After Dark" is Hef was the first in the US to book a young hard rock band named Deep Purple as musical guests.
Hefs shows were brilliant and cutting edge. My late father in law had a Playboy club key and card for the L.A. club, we found it in his things after he passed. I wish someone would bring the concept back to life and freshen it up for today's market. But Hef would be a hard act to follow IMHO.
Impressive, the energy and stamina, vocal, and music is amazing.
Hello Pretty, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Total professionals, no-one even comes within 1000miles if Ike and Tina and co even with all the new tech and savvy. Raw Talent and passion making people happy. True artists!!
Tina became extremely famous without that wife beater Ike.
She was absolutely stunning. Geesh. 😊🤩🥰🕊️
Боролась за жизнь с детства отвергнутая матерью... Жила вопреки всему и всем, покойся с миром, наша любимая звезда....
This certainly is the best performance I have seen from 'playboy after dark'.
Wow you can Tell preforming was her outlet and release!!
I love so much. The time period music and the beauty of expressing one’s self. Image yourself in you early 20s being here!!
So poised, and effortlessly gorgeous 😍
Amazing performance by Tina, backup singers, and Ike & band.
Hello Susan, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
What a package!
Tina was very entertaining and always smiling in performing. Great lady❤
Those back up singers are MOVING!!!
Greatest live band ever!
People seem to forget that her dancers were just as talented as she was
Talented but not as talented as her, lol.
Ike Turner made this point often.
No, they can't SANG like she could.
@@Sttephy30 *SING
@@Sundae_Times No, SANG! Tina SANG, not just sing. There's a difference.
She brought it every time she walked on stage! The Queen ruled!
Tina you legendary phenomenal woman❤
Ike was instrumental to their earlier success and talented sure but even as much as tried couldn’t dim this light that she is on her own🙏🏾
People always said oh Ike was the quiet one and Tina always talked in interviews etc well she was the main talent and he was most definitely in control and abusing bts as we all know. Everything is not always what it seems. Glad this fiery woman got back up and became even bigger on her own
Tina was amazing as always…..and those backup singers were Gorgeous!
The REAL Ike and Tina Turner show!!😎👍❤❤❤❤❤
Came to pay homage to legend Tina Turner. RIP. Stayed to watch peak Claudia Lennear. How come she dances so good?
What a star she was bravo.... trailblazer.....
Pure energy out of girls and Tina is rocking like goddess.
U certainly got your money s worth ,,what a star 🌟
Miss Tina never disappoints !
When I finally understood that, I would watch, holding my breath, because I knew something was about to jump off.😂😂😂😂😂
As a kid, watched their "Proud Mary" performance on TV with my family. Mom loved how the Ikettes shook their long hair like the white girls.
Thank you tina for your performance in the world!!!
Tina Tuner, the James Brow of Saia, the Queen of Rock Roo'l and also of world Pop music, an unforgettable voice, a Legend that will never be forgotten by several generations that will pass through our Planet Earth. Brazil.
Leider unterdrückt von Ike.
TINA, absolute best Rock' Roll voice ever!
RIP TINA!
Thank for this Video!

Tina and the other women were incredible vivacious and athletic dancers and entertainers
Hello Cheryl, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??

My year born 1969. Teary eye while watching the young tina turner. Love her music♥️
Hello Marissa, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Never in my life have I seen a fiddler play the instrument like he playing a guitar. This white fiddler was feeling this music. He was trying to get down. The music was soo good he tried to sit down like he would at a Orchestra but the rymtme got to his feet.Youll never see that in this generation.
Doug Kershaw was the fiddler - his hit was Louisianna Man around the same time
That's legendary Louisiana country musician Doug Kershaw!
Awesome! No less, no more, I take the whole thing. Ike & Tina and the entire band just too good.
I would love to see her performances as a Superbowl half-time retrospective with some life dancers, she is fire!
IKE is a genius .
Hugh Hefner has just gone up in my estimation - Ike & Tina Turner band, absolutely magnificent!
RIP TINA. One of my fav vids to watch of hers over the years.
Gorgeous!!! She is the complete package not seen any performer who can do even the slightest of singing while dancing like she did
Thank you all and especially Tina for your expertise and hard work. You are so beautiful. Miss your performances, you are blessed !!!
Hello Althea, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Awesome…. I happened to see her live in Sacramento the same year - 1969…
I really really admired Tina Turner as "Aunty Entity" that name alone with her Alpha presence sent chills through me. We all loved you Miss Tina Turner ❤❤❤
