@@fmylife668 This is what I suspect as well. He should not have hit her, period. But she too was feisty, and I can imagine that they fought a lot, and that was their normal. They also competed against each other professionally.
@Princess Saunders she couldn’t because Ike would beat her very badly, it was almost impossible for her to leave Ike bc he was constantly watching her every move, and all other attempts didn’t work bc he always caught up to her and back then you weren’t supposed to stick your nose in a married couple’s business. She also relied on Ike for things like money and stuff bc Ike claimed everything and if she left she would be left with nothing

Don't let the movie fool you. Tina was never a doormat. Tina is from the country she wasn't raised to lay down. She put up with a lot to keep the peace but she didn't just start fighting back that one day in the car. LOL..... She didn't bite her tongue when it was something she felt strongly about either. I am sure she doesn't want anyone to think of her as a victim either. She knocked the hell out of Ike a few times. lol
This lady is strong. No matter what, she waited for the right moment. she always had a smile on her face. Then she placed the cards on the table. And bingo! she beat them all. Such power and grace. RIP Ike Turner (November 5, 1931 - December 12, 2007). Thank you for your musical contributions and introducing Tina Turner to the world. Many of his ex-wives, Tina's sister, musicians and singers he worked with spoke about his good nature. I'm sure drugs brought out the worst in him and he made bad decisions, but despite his vices, he made a positive impact in his lifetime and he is missed.
He had a horrific childhood. He grew up in times of segregation. Ike was absolutely disgusting towards Tina and she suffered like nobody should ever suffer, but god only knows how much unresolved childhood trauma that man had. She said once in an interview that she stayed with him because she wanted to help him and when she understood that he couldn't be helped she left. He lived a fast lifestyle and never had the chance to reflect and stop himself before it was too late. Tina told people not to be nasty about her ex husband when he died and to let him go in peace. R.I.P Ike Turner.
Ike could dress his ass off. He would dress the entire band. All of Europe started wearing their hair like Ike got his wig style the beetles and everyone.
Are you saying he wore Beatles style wigs BEFORE the Beatles made that hair style popular? Look up photos of him in 1962 before the Beatles hit big: he had the slick back 50s style hair cut, not a beatles style combed down fringe then. But he was a very cool dresser, yes. Very sharp!
Ike Turner redeemed himself at the end by trying to make right with his past. He apologized to Tina and their kids whom was traumatized by witnessing the abuse of their mother. Tina was pretty asf.💯😍Ike just annoying.😂
1. That wig looks crazy on Ike
2. What is Ike saying??
3.Ike didn’t make sense
4. Tina looked really beautiful
5. Tina was always good at doing interviews

What the hell was ike saying all I heard was bra
I love her Beautiful cheekbones....she's so beautiful ❤️☀️❤️
Tina was absolutely beautiful! Stunning
great footage!! thank you
Very beautiful lady
I really don't know what is so charming about him. I get it, he's a musician so that makes him kinda hot(not for me though). but from my point of view he had no looks no charm and besides all of that he was a mean sadistic bastard. Tina, it took you long enough to see the man he really was.
@@detroitcityman6622
😂😂😂😂 Nigga was tearin tina up
@@FC-sw6pt I read an interview of former band members and they said Ike and Tina would wake the entire hotel when they were getting it on.
Neva Tataj Tina was a teenaged unwed mother and had nowhere to go when her mother put her out of the house. Ike didn’t like the conditions she was living in and took her in because they were very close friends. It wasn’t about looks, neither of them were even attracted to each other when they got together. Both of them came from terrible upbringings, which is what bonded them in friendship in the first place. Toxic union, but they did create beautiful music.
He’s a Scorpio he is alluring...dark yet a helluva musician that gave her exposure and she loves the limelight so she made a sacrifice but she certainly could have left sooner...and they are actually having a good conversation going...because most of the time it’s tense...Ike being real quiet and giving her the cue...she is so powerful and he feared that!
He wasn’t just a random musician. He was actually a musical genius.
Wow she had beautiful skin
He skin was flawless too 😍😍😍
Man she was gorgeous, those cheekbones
Tina is absolutely a rare jewel.. gorgeous then and now😍😍
Damn...Tina is fine!!!!
Love her little hood! Great interview!!!
Wow....look at the naturally high cheek bones on this gorgeous goddess here!
Tanesha Anderson ..Native American genetics.
Oh my..can we take a moment to give tina her respects as a mfn godddddessss ..she is absolutely breathtaking
Tina is beautiful
I love Ike & Tina's music & all they created together, the good & the bad.
Thankyou for the music

The look on his face, when she interrupted him.....
Scottish Mum
M.
Yup.
You're reaching. He has a look on his face like he's just been interrupted and nothing more. I didn't see a frown or a glare.
@@solomongrundy1467 --The difference being??
@@hotice8885 Frown and glare have a somewhat different definition. If you don't believe me, look it up.
Damn she fine...
Excellent interview thanks for posting
I appreciate this interview, this seems like a more happier time for them in their marriage!
I think he took her back to the room and said never contradict me again. I don't know... Just got that feeling
@@bananka4905 y’all gotta stop trippin on Ike . They were happy here and that’s all . Let em rest in peace now
@@kelfx2853 so you are okay with a man beating a woman. Nice to know.
@@kelfx2853 she wasnt happy. He was. Making money off her. Otherwise he would not got as far as he did. He was a flop after that. Drugs and women beating does that to a person.
@@bananka4905Ike was not a flop. He actually made critically acclaimed albums and won a Grammy. He also played at music festivals.
TINA TURNER IS BEAUTIFUL
First time I heard Ike speak during an interview .
Ike and Tina had it great image Tina was absolutely stunning here beautiful high cheek bones lovely lips , striking features, Ike lucky 🍀 to had all and best off her 💓🌟
All is see is Jazmine Sullivan's face ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I see Meagan Good they have the same face expressions
Tina’s wigs and clothes were on POINT! back then 👑👑😍🔥🔥😍
Most people don't know that Ike and Anna Mae Bullock (Tina Turner) were good friends before they married. Ike took Tina in when she was an unwed teen mom with nowhere to go. She had a baby with a member in Ike's band. He later adopted her son. They benefited from each other to get out of St. Louis. He needed a dynamic performer and that's where he groomed Tina. He can NOT take credit for her natural talent but he gave her a platform to shine. There is a reason she stayed with him for nearly 20 years and that they're inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a duo.
bluesugar58 like that he helped her but it all got discredited when he became abusive.
none of it got discredited by me
That’s not how it happened
Eunice+ The only "abuse" YOU saw, was portrayed by actors in a MOVIE! Don't pretend you were there!
Stacy+ You don't want to believe that's how it happened, because you need to cling to a movie image which allows/justifies your Tina Turner ridiculous worship.
This interview is proof positive that one never knows what goes on behind closed doors. It's scary to see how people can cover shit up meanwhile she's getting the shit beat out of her. Just too sad.
It is crazy I have had problems with boyfriend while going to dinner and act like we never just argued 😏 You never know what anyone goes through
why would you assume that. its perfectly possible they had some good days
Don’t believe the movies portrayal of Ike and Tina. They were both deeply flawed and pretty much abused each other in more ways than one. He’s no monster and she’s no angel. Abused women don’t talk back or say anything argumentative. Watch AshleySaysSo… she covers the truth about their lives. Also Unsung, the story of Ike and Tina.
@@fmylife668 This is what I suspect as well. He should not have hit her, period. But she too was feisty, and I can imagine that they fought a lot, and that was their normal. They also competed against each other professionally.
@@fmylife668 So basically you're doing what ike defenders do and trying to make an excuse for him abusing her. Y'all are ridiculous.
She got tired of singing the blues and the heart break music.
No she got tired of the fucking beatings duh
@Princess Saunders she couldn’t because Ike would beat her very badly, it was almost impossible for her to leave Ike bc he was constantly watching her every move, and all other attempts didn’t work bc he always caught up to her and back then you weren’t supposed to stick your nose in a married couple’s business. She also relied on Ike for things like money and stuff bc Ike claimed everything and if she left she would be left with nothing
@Princess Saunders she actually did tell ppl & when they got involved , he would beat her more

Her cheekbones were sitting! She is gorgeous
Ike dropped some historical 💣💣💣
Lol I wonder what he was about to say at the end when Tina is like Ahh c'mon now lol. She was not having it, she looked at him like don't you even go there lol!!
+Nikidra Thompson Looking at her hair, this was around the early 70s when she ended up fighting back and left Ike. So at this point she was done putting up with his shit.
She knocked the hell out of Ike a few times. lol
+M. Lewis your right! Tina don't want us to look at her as a victim! She said it herself. More of a Survivor she is!
M. Lewis lol so true
Wow, stunning, her beauty!
The outfits are tight.
Omg she looks adorable...tina is and now still beautiful
Omg... She is gorgeous!!!!
Her outfit is 👌😍
This lady is strong. No matter what, she waited for the right moment. she always had a smile on her face. Then she placed the cards on the table. And bingo! she beat them all.
Such power and grace. We all need to take a leaf out of her book, never give up and carry on. One gets to the top of the mountain and then all the shit that was there before, miraculously dissappears. Of course, with the faith in God and his Grace. Amen
Do you think she had faith in Jesus? Or the teachings of Buddhism
I really need to know
Wow Tina You Were Very Beautiful &‘ Intelligent. Ike You Seemed Civil. Watching This You Wouldn’t Have Thought They Had No Problems Far As What Was Later Known. Jus t The Way They Dialogued During This Interview They’re Behavior Was So Simple. Wow
He was so totally inept. Tina carried him and tried to protect him from his own ignorance.
Yeah he was ignorant and was not articulate. She tried to cover it up
@@aeshaalberts7560He was not ignorant.
I can see here that Tina was getting stronger. She talking back to him and showing less fear. Ike was losing control of her and i love it!
she was so gorgeous 😩
Tina’s so gorgeous-she’s timeless❤
I love Tina Turner 💖
She's a BLESSING of encouragement 4 me
I hated it when Ike would wear that wig... there's footage with Teddy Pendergrass wearing one when he was with Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes and it looks just like that one
Sweets Sweeter Teddy's was worse! I was just watching a performance of Melvin & the Blue Notes singing "I Miss You" and while Teddy's voice was on point his wig was so distracting lol
Bri nln ...yeah you're right....Teddy's was worse!! ...lol!!
🤣
😂😂😂😂
Tina so gorgeous I love the outfit, yes Ike was jealous thats a fact.
Great interview. Tina Turner is simply Gorgeous!!
Ike was an established Blues Singer.
And a SMFER
I can see that she has healing black eyes
Yep, I can see that too😮
Wow Tina looked beautiful.
this was a great interview.
Very sharp!
OMG Tina Turner was simply BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I luv it!!! ❤️❤️
