You made it much more complicated than it had to be..simply remove the block and toss it, then cut all the wires from the lights so that they connect in the yellow housing and wire them to the controller red wight yellow white green white. Then connect the 2 wires from the cord... and if you want to make it look pretty, connect the ground wire from the cord to one of the screw holes from where the block was attached.
I would have to read the manual that came with the light controller. Right now I’m not home but can look later and see what I can see in the manual. Thanks

I got one with the remote control. Do you know how to program it to have all 49 light sequences?
Honestly not sure. I have not played with one with a remote.
