It was some dinitro phenolic compound.
Mostly the color of the resultant solution is colourless. But in this case may be due to the two nitrogen group it turned yellow.

Take several precautions like...
The fusion tube should be in red hot condition while introducing the solid.
Also make sure the fusion tube is kept straight as shown in the video while introducing the compound.
